Wonderful service. I had six different issues to deal with. Leyla took my call and calmly dealt with who to send to work at my house. Bruce came and was really fantastic to work with in trouble shooting the problems and calmly going about fixing them, explaining along the way what and why he was doing what he did. Resolved lower level lights not working due to a malfunctioning breaker in our circuit breaker box. Installed a timer switch in a tight spot to replace an on/off switch for a bathroom exhaust fan, installed two ceiling fans with lights in two different rooms to replace ceiling lights, and then crawled through our attic crawl space to access our whole house attic fan that was malfunctioning. The power grid in St. Louis is pretty unreliable for a modern American city. My wife and I have been talking about getting a generator installed at our home for some time, and we finally went forward with the project this summer. The cost of installing a standby generator put us off, but we finally decided to buy a large portable generator instead. A portable unit is not as convenient, but just as effective as a standby generator and a lot cheaper. The next hurdle was to find an electrician who would install it, and it wasn't easy. We talked to two companies who wouldn't consider installing a portable generator and to a third contractor who had never installed a generator before. We finally got in touch with Jeremy at Mid-America Electric, who said his company had a lot of experience in generator installation. Jeremy came out and performed a professional assessment of the job, and he was very helpful and open to the project. He furnished a bid which amounted to about half of the next lowest proposal (for a standby generator). He even let us buy the generator ourselves. Bruce and his apprentice Cameron worked efficiently and competently to complete the installation in one day, including some other work to bring our house up to code. They were on time, polite, and made an effort to avoid disrupting our daily routine. Bruce even discovered and fixed a mistake made by the guy who installed our air conditioner a couple years ago. Before they left, Bruce gave me a tutorial on how to connect the generator to the house system. Cleanup was better than I expected from a contractor. Our experience with Mid-America Electric was a win-win in every way. We would use them again for a big electrical project, and we recommend them to you as well.

Mid-America Electric did an outstanding job of resolving starting issues that I’ve had with my 20K Kohler generator for sometime. Part of the problem was at the original gas line was not installed properly (wrong size), which limited fuel flow (natural gas) to the unit. Technicians have just been outstanding. I now have a contract with this company to maintain my generator indefinitely. Thanks for a job well done.

My husband and I hired Mid-America Electric to check on an issue we were having with our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in our home. A technician (Shawn) was able to come later the same morning we called, and he completed the job to our satisfaction. From the kind, compassionate lady who took our call and scheduled our appointment, to Shawn who was friendly, skilled, and professional, we could not have been happier with our experience with Mid-America. We highly recommend this company and would definitely hire them again.

Jeremy and team are first rate. They are VERY communicative about appointments, HELPFUL on the front end in explaining the issues and perform clean and quality work. I had their work inspected by an Electrical Engineer who reported excellent results and workmanship. Fair price and easy to work with on home and I assume commercial work ( only used for home at this point). HIGHLY recommended. They installed new breaker box and added Alumiconn's in entire condo.

I have been doing business with Mid-America since the early 2000s, and have always received excellent, timely service at reasonable cost. I can recommend Mid-America for the quality of their work. They maintain our generator, and have installed new circuits when we've needed them and found and fixed problems when we've encountered them.

Mid American was amazing to work with and did an incredible job! I was under a time crunch in order to close on my home and need a LOT of repairs done.
