We had an issue with the front control panel on our GE refrigerator. It was covered under warranty. Zack ordered the needed part and replaced it in a reasonable amount of time. Zack was courteous and professional. He provided excellent customer service. We had a great experience with Tarheel Appliance Repair.

We needed an internal light repair on our new dishwasher and Tarheel Appliance Repair sent their technician Tim to assess the issue and fix the light. Tim provided prompt, friendly, professional and customer-focused service. Tim fixed what was a loose wire connection and our issue was resolved. Should we need an appliance repair in the future, we would not hesitate to contact Tarheel Appliance Repair.

I scheduled an appointment on Friday, September 19, 2025, for Tuesday, September 23, between 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. I received a reminder text the day before and confirmed. On the day of service, they texted me again at 11:27 a.m. to reconfirm. I didn’t see it immediately but responded at 12:53 p.m.—still within the appointment window. By then, they had already canceled and said no one would be coming. My phone shows no missed calls from them. I had someone waiting at the house during the scheduled time, and they simply didn’t show. This was a complete waste of time and shows total disregard for the customer. I do not recommend this company to anyone. If you value your time and want reliable service, look elsewhere. Absolutely horrible experience.

Feels like a scam. Tarheel Appliance Repair charged us nearly $300 for a display repair—after that, the fridge stopped dispensing water. When we followed up, they charged us another diagnostic fee, even though we had already paid one for the original issue. Then they quoted $900 to repair it—turns out, their tech never reconnected the water line during the first visit. We fixed it ourselves in minutes. Now they’ve been harassing us to pay again for a mistake they made. Unprofessional, dishonest, and completely unacceptable.

Avoid This Company – Extremely Poor Communication and Service I strongly recommend avoiding Tarheel Appliance. Unfortunately, our experience mirrors many of the negative reviews—specifically about their lack of communication and professionalism. We had a confirmed appointment scheduled, but the day before, at 5:02 PM, they called to say they couldn’t make it the next morning. Instead, they offered a 1–4 PM window that same day, which we agreed to. My wife works from home, so we confirmed the new time without issue. The next day, I missed two calls from an unknown number during a meeting. At 1:22 PM, I received a text stating that if I didn’t respond within 10 minutes, the appointment would be canceled. This was after we had already reconfirmed! I responded immediately and called back but reached voicemail. I also sent a text. Eventually, they rescheduled for the next day. That made two failed attempts before anyone even showed up. When the technician did arrive on Friday, he said we needed a new motor and that the job required two people. He mentioned he disliked installing motors but would order the part and reschedule. On Monday, I called to check on the status of the part and the repair timeline. I left a voicemail and followed up with a text—no response. I repeated this on Wednesday—still nothing. On Thursday, I received a single text saying they would contact the technician and get back to me. They never did. I followed up again the next Monday. No reply. Then again on Thursday, after speaking directly with Electrolux, I learned that THA had never submitted a work order for the motor or followed up with them at all. At this point, we had been without a working dryer for three weeks—all because Tarheel Appliance failed to complete a simple task: order the part and schedule the repair. The lack of communication and follow-through has been incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Save yourself the hassle and headache and loss of valuable time—look elsewhere. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Horrifying company. The never answer the phone and lied about contacting the manufacturer. Dawn never calls back. Tim and another guy came to try and fix the issue which they didn’t and they took our bottom trim kit off and couldn’t get it back on and just left it. Apparently they closed out the ticket even though they said the ticket would remain open and they will contact the manufacturer. I know why this company has such awful reviews, and if I would’ve looked at the reviews prior to them coming out after the manufacturer had put them on this ticket I never would’ve allowed them in my home.

I had a great experience with Tar Heel appliance repair! They were the third company to service my leaking washer and the only one that was able to fix it! Thank you so much! I highly recommend them!
