Allen Heating & Cooling

Terrible service - would not recommend. If I could give zero stars, I would! I had Allen Heating and Cooling out twice in the past month and continued to have the same issue. Both visits were rushed - the techs were here for 10 minutes max. The first time they replaced a wire, and the second time they said the breaker was tripped but never investigated why it kept tripping. Today, I finally called Rockford Heating and Cooling (highly recommend!), and within minutes their tech correctly diagnosed the real issue: extremely dirty coils (pretty hard to miss with how dirty it was!) - a simple fix that Allen heating and cooling should have caught on the first visit as the cover was removed to replace a wire. To make matters worse, when I called Allen heating and cooling today, the service tech on the phone was rude and dismissive. He told me, "If it has to do with the wire we replaced, well that’s on you. We never claimed to be electricians. You will still be charged." Completely unprofessional from start to finish. I will never use Allen Heating and Cooling again, and I won’t recommend them to anyone.

I just had my AC and heating unit replaced Today. Allen said three men appear to work on the new unit. The moment they showed up, they were nonstop until they’ve completely done. They worked through the rain and Storm nonstop. I really appreciate everything it done for us. They was really patient and understanding and took the time to explain everything to me. They cleaned everything up took the whole unit with them. Make sure nothing was in the way. They were super great. You couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us.

I first want to say I normally handle everything that goes wrong in my house for this exact reason. I had called Allen heating and cooling due to my furnace stopped putting out heat and there was a very noticeable clicking noise coming from the furnace. The lady that answered the phone said there was a $95 diagnostic fee. I said fair enough let's get it figured out. The Technician arrived and diagnosed the unit as needing a circuit board and hit me with a quote of $600+. I said I will get the circuit board from a hvac supplier and install it myself. I had paid the the diag fee of $95 plus 1 hour of labor for $180. I then went and got the circuit board and installed the board. Very easy plug and play. The original issue was still present. I then had called them again and had let them know the part they condemned bad was not and the issue was still present. They then had the senior tech call me and he could tell what the problem was just based off of the symptoms. He said the gas valve is the issue replace that and the issue will be resolved. So I now spent $275 for a improper diagnosis, $220 for the circuit board and another $226 for the gas valve. So a total of $721 when I could have spent alittle over $400 and the issue could've been resolved. I have been trying to get in contact with the manager or the owner and I always get in contact with the rude lady that I assume is a receptionist. That honestly if she treats all of the customers like that will be pushing away future business. I don't know that I will ever be using Allen heating and cooling in the future for any Hvac issues/maintenance. Update on this issue. I had called many times to get ahold of the manager. The manager was never in office and wouldn't give me a call back. I then had done research on how the system worked. I then found out they diagnosed the system completely wrong. I had checked the circuit board for a blinking led light. The light would flash a code if a error was present and found the system had a fault for the pressure switch. I then checked the pressure switch for proper operation. I then checked for restrictions and found the port on the housing of the exhaust fan to be blocked with corrosion. This had formed from the condensation from the evaporator core. I then cleared the restriction in the port and everything was working great! So really this repair should have cost me nothing in parts. Pretty upset with this company!!!

Tom and his crew were just fantastic. I had central air installed at my house and everyone who came out to work on it were so nice and answered any questions I had. Truly an awesome team and will be going to them in the future.

I had to replace my furnace & a/c (2/20 & 2/21/25). I can’t recommend Allen Heating & Cooling enough! Not only did the tech arrive to my house within 2 hrs, but their sales guy arrived an hour later. He answered all of my questions candidly and honestly. My new furnace was installed the next day, and the a/c was installed as well, although they’ll finish in the Spring as it’s too cold to do in February. Laura is always so kind and friendly when you call. Andy is awesome, and Jeff was awesome as well answering all my questions about the new stuff. If you’re in need of a new furnace, a/c or need repairs, absolutely 100% call the fabulous folks at Allen!

First you don't introduce yourself when coming to my door didnt even mention a name and I had to guess who you are. Then only speaking 2 words to me (a woman) proceeds with his job all by not telling me anything. I go out to ask what the problem might be (me noticing him switching things already, mind you we were supposed to get an Estimate FIRST before installation) he proceeds to tell me the issue. I asked what the cost was ($400). This man arrived with the temp. at 76°and an hour later 80° all while NOT clearing a BIG Sharp Metal piece that he took out and he left behind for one of my children or dog to step on. He didn't bother to look into the problem further only fixing the bare minimum, we had to have someone who knows what there doing to tell us instead of half-assed work. I am so incredibly and rightfully angry! 3 stars because of Andy and his ability to communicate otherwise I would have put 1.

During a terrible heatwave our air conditioning went out early evening. We have used this company before and as always, they didn't let us down! I have asthma and can't take the heat and humidity. From their after hours, to the office staff and their techs WE THANK YOU !!! Kathy and Joe Zuilek
