We had 4 different HVAC Companies come to our home prior to LaVerne & Son, each had bad news, and told us our unit needed replacement without even going through the steps' that Rex LaVerne had done. Rex diagnosed it, suggested some refrigerant be added and for me to monitor it's performance. Honesty, and Integrity. That is truly what we all look for. I definitely will be using LaVerne & Son again.

I’ve been a loyal customer of LaVerne & Son Electrical, Air Conditioning and Solar for nearly 20 years, both personally and through several rental properties. Over that time, I’ve consistently had good experiences with their service, technicians, and professionalism — which is why I trusted them for a recent full HVAC system replacement. The new system was a large installation (just over $37,500) for a rental property. Scheduling and installation went smoothly, and the crew was courteous and professional. That said, I did experience two post-installation service visits. The first was due to moisture leaking from the unit because the condensate drain had not been verified as clear during installation. LaVerne & Son responded quickly and took care of it. The second issue came when we switched over to heating. The blower fan was running continuously and wouldn’t cycle off. A technician spent several hours troubleshooting and consulting technical support, and it was determined the system hadn’t been programmed correctly during install (dip switches were not set properly). Once corrected, the system performed as expected. I understand mistakes can happen, especially while training newer technicians. My suggestion would be adding a senior technician quality check on major installs to prevent avoidable callbacks. It would reduce inconvenience for customers and limit unnecessary warranty work. Despite this hiccup, I will continue using LaVerne & Son because they stood behind their work, responded professionally, and handled the situation responsibly. My intent in sharing this is simply to provide honest, constructive feedback.

Few things are as painful as coming home from a trip at 1:30 in the morning to discover the AC had gone out—and it was 105 degrees inside. They say not to make big decisions under duress, and this was exactly that. In our search for a local authorized Trane dealer, we found that LaVerne & Sons was the only one in town. I can confidently say that’s not the only thing that sets them apart. They replied to our inquiry almost immediately, scheduled a visit, and gave us a thorough diagnosis and estimate. The price they quoted was the price we paid—no surprises. They took the time to help us choose a system that fit both our needs and our budget. Since we needed to replace the entire unit, we also added an air purification filter to help with Bakersfield’s less-than-ideal air quality. Our home is 20 years old, and the primary bedroom gets the full blast of the 5 o’clock sun—but now, for the first time, our room actually stays cool. Nicholas, Matt, and Andrew did an excellent installation job. They were professional, courteous, and pleasant every time they came in and out of the attic and backyard. We are so thankful we found LaVerne & Sons and would recommend them without hesitation.

My serviceman was Raymond. He called to let me know he was on his way. The company also sent a text letting me know he would be here shortly. When he got here he was friendly and very professional. Overall, I had an excellent transaction with the company from scheduling with Sandra to the maintenance finale. I highly recommend Laverne and Sons. LaVerne and Son is a reputable company that we have enjoyed working with for many years . Very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They recently installed back up batteries for our solar system and the work was completed as promised in a timely manner. We enjoyed working with Rex!
