I have Payne electric co. Working on my charging station and Dalton the certify master electrician is doing the work and so far I have had a great experience with them. They will be working in the future to electrify my home with solar arrays and I won’t use anyone else.
Called to have them troubleshoot a wiring issue. After 2 hrs they had to get some other equipment to help troubleshoot and would be back ASAP but maybe not until the next week. They actually made the problem worse by leaving other lights/outlets non-operational. When they didn't call like they said they would the next day to firm up a date/time, I hired another electrician. The new electrician got the original problem and their additional issue fixed in less time and less cost then when they were here. I still have never received a call back from the company. The only thing they were quick at was cashing my check.
This is a long one, but it will explain why we will not be using this company again. We bought a house back in August, and had previously reached out to Payne for an estimate on repairs before closing. We were estimated a worst case scenario total of $1,400. Shortly after close, we reached back out to schedule for the repairs to be made and set a date for September. We provided instructions on how to enter the home with a keypad, since we had not moved in at that time. A few days after that date, we called to ask about the invoice, as we had not been billed yet. First we were told they hadn't prepared the invoice yet and to give it a few more days. Days went by and we hadn't received it, so we called again. This time we were told that no work was completed on that September date because they "couldn't get into the home" and we had to reschedule for a time we could physically be there. So we rescheduled for October, which pushed back our move in date since they never told us they needed to reschedule. They arrived in October and completed the work we asked for, and that very same day we were provided with an invoice for nearly $300, which we were told included all repairs done that day. We paid the invoice. Months later in January, we received an invoice in the mail from them for $1,400. Thinking this was a mistake, we called the company to ask about this. First my husband spoke with them, and the man on the phone stated he had found their invoice they wrote up for the estimation so they just billed us the entire estimate. So then I spoke with him, and he said they actually did do work in September, and the $1,400 was the invoice for that. I told him that was a mistake, due to that being the total estimate and we had already paid $300 for the work done in October, and how we had been told NO work was done in September at all. He insisted we owed them $1,400, so I asked for an itemized receipt stating what exactly was done that cost that much that we owed them for. I was told he would create the itemized receipt and get it to is within a couple days. We called them several times over the span of a few weeks to ask about this and each time were told they were still working on it. Months later in May we received an email asking for the $1,400 to be paid, so we responded to the email explaining everything I have just explained above. Finally, we received a response admiring they had made a mistake, work WAS done in September, but it was only for about $350. We have since paid this invoice. It sounds like they REALLY need to get better at bookkeeping. Being constantly asked for WAY more money than we owed them is insulting. We will not be using them again.
This company is great. We are elderly and had problems. They made three trips to help us. People in office ans service personnel are great. The reason for two other visits was due to us dealing with things that did not involve their work.
We were impressed with Rodney and Mike. They did quality work and put some thought into outlet/switch location. An honest mistake was made during the service call. They let me know immediately and there was no hassle with making the situation right. We wouldn't hesitate to make use of their service in the future.
Answered the phone & showed up Quickly! Easy going& friendly! Pretty rare these days to get folks to show up. As a business owner in need of some quick electrical repair.. We’ve easily dealt with nearly 5 or 6 different electricians that no showed or completed fell off the face of the earth for no apparent reason. I highly recommend this place & will be calling on them for any future needs!
My family and I have used Payne Electric for several years without complaint. However, some changes must have taken place since we last used them. I called to have some electrical work done, and I had to wait 1 1/2 weeks for the technician to come. It was non-emergent so I accepted that (though they have been able to schedule sooner in the past). After waiting 1 1/2 weeks and taking a day off work for the 4 hour window on the day they were supposed to come, no one bothered to show or to call. Unacceptable. I called another company who came out the next day to fix our electrical issue. This was unprofessional and I cannot recommend them. Unless you have time to waste, I would suggest not using this company.
