This is a highly unethical company. READ ALL THE ONE STAR REVIEWS. I hired them to clean our ducts and it came with a free furnace check up. The furnace guy gave me a total BS story about our 3-year old furnace being at the end of its life because of an air pressure imbalance. He called his boss who sent a super slimy sales guy out to our house at dinner time. He was at our house for hours trying to sell us $7000 of new air ducts that we don’t need. These guys were at our house almost the entire day. They showed us pictures of "the inside of our furnace" showing burn marks, tried to scare us into thinking we’re close to a carbon monoxide leak— turns out our furnace is smart enough to shut off in the event of burning so these pictures were fake/ not our furnace. I’m disgusted! The next day I noticed they had cut numerous holes in our furnace and hadn’t plugged them up. I fortunately called our local furnace company who originally installed our unit— I told him that we’d just been told we need $7K of new ductwork and he guessed it was Capital! — and he gave me a laundry list of horror stories from clients of his that have at one time used Capital — stories and pictures of them sabotaging people’s furnaces to make them stop working! BUYER BEWARE.
I’m proud to say the company will soon be known as, Capital Heating, Cooling, Electric and Plumbing. How do I know this? Simple. I called for a plumbing issue. All of the staff were very friendly and professional. Not only that, but I received a text, letting me know my technician, Nick was on his way. In that text, there was a picture of Nick (you can see him hard at work in the photos posted) so the customer would feel confident opening the door. Nick did a stellar job! He found out the backed up sink wasn’t something that couldn’t be fixed with a simple snaking under the sink. He had to go into the basement and attempt to open the pipe at the stack. Even though that proved to be more involved than you’d expect, Nick was undeterred. He spent a considerable amount of time there working diligently on the problem. What was so remarkable about this was, he made me feel like I was his only customer! Some techs walk through the door looking at their watch because they’re "so busy." Not Nick! He took his time and made sure he got the job done properly. And now I have "my plumbing guy." You know those people who always have "a guy" who does things for them to keep life simple? They’ve got a guy who works on their car. They’ve got a guy who fixes roofs. With Capital Heating, Cooling, Electric and Plumbing, (and their employees like Nick), you can finally feel like you have "a guy." "Plumbing problems? Give my guy, Nick a call." Once you call him, I’m sure he’ll be "your guy" too.
I had a Capital over to repair a service mast to my home and I couldn’t be happier. They were very professional and did all the little things to repair the damages. They pulled the permits, contacted the city for me and did all what was required. Awesome work from the team top to bottom. Exceptional. Highly recommended. Photos show the before and after.
Hello, I’m the husband of Sofia’s who just left a one star review. I’m happy to elaborate on this company’s sales tactics. Essentially they offered a "free" furnace diagnostic as part of the air duct cleaning. When Stevie was here, he and his accomplice, Grant staged a "phone call" to discuss the air flow "issues" and pulled out some unconvincing dramatics. "Oh yeah those numbers are way off! The static pressure should be such and such. Oh yeah we can send someone out right away to walk you through what’s going on." Wow! Thank God you can send someone right away at dinner time. Then Justin comes and "walks" us through the situation and claims that our brand new furnace is aging rapidly and assured me that the furnace would die in "less than 10 years." He said that it was working "way harder" than it should. He pointed to "burn marks" on pictures that may or may not have been our system. Okay, so our energy bills should reflect that our system is working itself to a premature death, right? Nope. And the burn marks? Found out later that our system would automatically shut off if there was any burning because it is a Smart system. Our energy bills are cheap as hell even with ancient, leaky windows. So none of this is adding up. Then he pointed out that our living room had the only return vent and assumed that this room would have the least temperature differential. Actually, the living room has the most differential, but only in summer for some reason. No convincing answer for that one either. He then told us that in order to correct the issue they would need to install more return vents, which would require redoing a section of the duct work, and the grand total would be $6,995. They left holes in our furnace, which Affordable Heating and Cooling fixed for free. Affordable’s old furnace in this house was 16 years old before it quit… when Affordable came, the technician accurately GUESSED which company sold us this scam and told us that we had nothing to worry about our system.
Brian B. Provided the best plumbing experience I've ever had. He arrived ready to go, made time to answer all my questions and had the job done in a very timely manner. His communication was excellent! I will definitely be using Capitol in the future thanks to this excellent experience.
Debatably one of the best service call experiences I have ever had. Edgar communicated well and transparently throughout the process, breaking down all the technical aspects to something I could understand. In the end, it was due to his persistence that he was able to diagnose and effectively fix. Job extremely well done, Edgar!!!
Stevie was my tech for my furnace. Very friendly, helpful, and professional. Properly put his shoe covering on prior to walking through the house. Took notes and photos, explained what he was seeing and shared info and professional feedback. Called supervisor Ryan right away and Ryan arrived within 15 min. Ryan was extraordinarily helpful as well. He also completed a very thorough inspection and broke everything down in layman terms. Professionalism from both were very commendable. Didn't try to pressure me into making any commitments. Overall excellent experience considering situation.
