Was on my way to Ballard Electronics to pick up a starter when my outboard’s prop pin snapped. Jim didn’t hesitate — he jumped right in and helped me get it sorted even though that’s not what I came for. Total pro, knows his craft, and just a genuine guy with real heart. The starter service was great too. Big thanks to Jim and Ballard Electronics — people like that keep you moving.

5 star, Jim is the man! I am rebuilding my starter, and I came in with some questions and to order some parts. He was knowledgeable and very helpful for what I needed. He is a cool reserved guy I think; easy to talk to.

I was having a regulator issue on my alternator, and was pointed here. Was told he was about a month out for work. Walked in and talked to Jim. He gabed with me for a min, and grabbed my alternator and threw it on the bench. A new regulator and an enjoyable conversation later, I was off for a weekend sail on the boat I thought wasn't happening. Recommend this place. Thanks Jim.

This guy Jim has no clue what he's doing. I called and drove across Seattle after discussing the starter I needed and the job could be done that day. No problem. Left work only to get there and Jim told me they don't even have that stocked from here to Kansas City. He remembered the call and shrugged his shoulders. "Sorry" was his reply. I left work a half day early and he couldn't care less about it. He promptly went back to a conversation with his buddy.

First of all, beware that they have moved from NW 49th St to 1080 W. Ewing St. It is worth hunting for the place. The shop is affiliated with Romaine electric in Kent. We got a replacement, rebuilt starter for our boat from them a few years ago. The solenoid failed during a cruise, and we sailed back assuming our cruise was over. I took the starter to Jim at noon Friday. He located a replacement solenoid somewhere on his delivery man's route, called the man, who could bring the part by 3:15. Jim had the starter repaired by 3:30 and we were able to reinstall it and resume our cruise. This is real service.

Fixed my 1968 moto guzzi starter in a day! Much appreciated!
