Express was one of four companies I talked with about this renovation and I chose them for their fair prices and communication (their prices were square in the middle, they listened, answered questions, provided timely follow-up). This company also advertised doing restoration with wet basements and I wanted to be sure if we ran into any wet spots, I hired someone who had experience handling it. I'm very happy with the work that Express did. During the process, I sent many long emails with questions that Andrew, my primary point of contact, answered thoroughly and with patience. I went over budget (due to work I added), but Andrew was helpful in suggesting different ways to approach the work to save money. Moses was the lead on site and was clearly looking after the quality of the work and responsive to my questions or concerns along the way. The two people I saw at home most often were two brothers who did most of the demo, reframing, hanging drywall, refinishing, and painting. They took great care overall and especially with creating a new arch in a rebuilt doorway so that it matched other arches in the home. If I could change anything about the experience: I noticed that when I was onsite, the team could ask questions and get quick answers from me and when I wasn't onsite, I'd stop by at end of day and sometimes find a surprise here or there (never anything unfixable or damaging by any stretch). I wish I would have printed a job checklist so workers could see the big picture and I that I could have been on site every day to launch the team and answer any questions. I did tell Andrew and Moses to do the work whenever was convenient for their team, but in hindsight I would have asked that they let me know whenever they plan to be at the house, so I could have arrange to be there if needed. Overall, the work came out great and I'm thankful it went as smoothly as it did. I'm happy with the communication and the quality and am likely to hire them again when the next project comes up! Included in the project were: 1. living room: drywall repair (clean up holes and damage) 2. dining room: remove old swing door and reshape threshold to match arches in other dining entrances 3. bedroom: remove "door to nowhere" (demo, rebuild, refinish) 4. bedroom: install pocket door and repair old molding 5. office: remove old door (demo, rebuild and refinish), add new closet doors 6. kitchen: close-up old door, refinish two walls (texture, paint, add baseboards) 7. attic access: was previously tiny access in small bathroom, they patched up that hole and created and finished new access in hallway 8. basement bedroom: demo, assess for water, treat concrete, rebuild and refinish, texture, prime and paing, install new carpet 9. basement window: reset and sealed a leaky window 10. whole house: repair drywall where needed after electric updates; repaint bedroom, office, living, dining, hallway, kitchen, basement family room

Express Restoration LLC did an outstanding job converting my basement into an amazing ADU, truly maximizing the potential of my home. They did a great job with the repairs. It took them about three days. They were prompt and showed up when they said they would. Their pricing was also reasonable and affordable—we received quotes that were three times higher than what Express Restoration quoted us.
