Falcone Contracting

You cannot go wrong by using Falcone for your work. My wife and I were new to the Charlotte area and chose Falcone to assist us with work on our century home that needed some structural work (support piers) and vapor barrier. From the start our experience was nothing but positive. The receptionist are always professional and friendly, our site person Ronnie W. was fantastic in learning our situation, explaining the work the needed to be done and getting it arranged. Ronnie came across as very thorough and genuine which helped us have some peace of mind when deciding to get the work done with Falcone. The crew did great work as promised and left our home as promised - work done as guaranteed. Ronnie followed up with us as promised and we are completely satisfied with everything done. I highly recommend the use of Falcone for your work, I would say it would be difficult to find better! Thank you Falcone for a job well done.

Well, Falcone Crawl Space came through again! I had them level a large living room floor a few months ago and they did such a wonderful job that we called them back to reinforce a kitchen floor where we are putting new cabinets and a much heavier countertop. Eric and his crew of Jose and Bobby were again, very prompt, on time and kept me informed of what they were doing each step of the way and what to expect from each step. There couldn't be a more professional crew with consideration for our property and getting permission for anything that they did that may affect us. They all addressed us with courtesy and were always asking if we had any questions for them. They worked with each other and kept a good attitude even though it was hard, hot, and dusty work. They kept on schedule even when faced with a problem of their vehicle breaking down on the way to our house on the second day. Hayden and Ian came to help Eric's crew and kept the job on schedule so they were able to still finished on the day that they had promised. They are hard workers and keep their promises. I just wish other companies could be as good as they are.

After getting a number of estimates for crawlspace repair, minor subfloor repair, and to level a severe low spot in our kitchen floor, we hired Falcone Contracting, as I liked the initial impression that the owner, Fred Falcone, gave me. Their estimate was not the lowest, but I also liked the idea of supporting a family-owned business. His wife runs the logistics back at the office and is very friendly, was responsive to my requests. However, if I could turn back the clock, I would have selected another company, as we were disappointed with the work that was not completed or the overall experience. The total service was to include replacing some crawl space beams, putting down the plastic vapor barrier, and leveling out a severe dip in the kitchen floor. The crawl space beams were done well. The vapor barrier was just plastic sheets laid down - they weren't secured in place as I imagined they would be, so to this day, they move around anytime I have to get Christmas boxes in or out of the crawl space. A bit disappointing, but maybe not that big of a deal. They began working on trying to level out a severe dip in the kitchen floor. Fred explained to me that they would make some adjustments and then give the house time to settle and would come back in 2-3 weeks. That made perfect sense to me. He also set my expectations that he would not be able to make it perfectly level, but that he could improve it significantly - I told him I was fine with that. He came back as he said and made more adjustments, but the floor was still way off, and he said he was concerned about his ability to do much more saying the beams under the house were bowed severely. He said add'l supports would be required and would cost me an add'l $2,300. I was not happy. To this I told him that I was sorry he seemed to have overlooked the extent of the repair, but that he included this repair in his estimate and I asked him to complete the work at no add'l cost to me. I also noted that the other estimates (some came in less than his) also included that repair and that I didn't think multiple contractors would have all missed the same thing. He agreed to finish the job at no add'l cost to me. He came back out and put another support beam in but was not having any luck getting the floor to level at all - in fact, they raised it too high and now we were having concerns on how that was affecting the rest of the house. I had to call again, and they came back out and lowered it again, but ended up taking out all the shims and we were back at where we started. Fred said he wasn't sure what else he could do because of the bowed beams, to which I still wasn't understanding why they weren't included in his estimate. It was at that point that I lost faith in their ability to properly repair the kitchen floor -- in fact, I was concerned that they might do structural harm -- so I dropped it and did not ask them to come out again. (Today, sadly, our kitchen floor still has a severe drop in it.) On a separate note, Fred & his team all left their cigarette butts on my driveway, to which I had to ask him to clean them up -- this was less than professional in my opinion. Personally, I liked Fred and his wife (who was manning the phones) - they were friendly and tried to be helpful. And I do think Fred gave some effort to make things right - but his apparent oversight on the repair estimate must have been pretty big -- so much that he wasn't willing to absorb whatever it would take to make it right as originally promised. For me, the weight of this oversight exposed a lack of knowledge and understanding of structural engineering and a lack of experience for that type of repair, such that I cannot recommend their services. The overall experience left us dissatisfied, and unfortunately, we will have to secure services from another company in the future, whenever we are able to save up enough for the repair.

I'm in a townhome with 1 attached neighbor home. The garages had widened cracks showing the stress of poor drainage around the house. We hired Fred's company to clean and reseal the foundation walls and install a french drain. They gave a slightly better bid than two local contractors. The project required more digging and effort than originally thought and it stretched from 2 to 4 weeks. The entire time, Fred kept us informed of what was taking place and why saying "we just want to do what's right". I kept thinking our agreed upon price might go up. It never did and he and his men worked tirelessly to get the job done right. And it is right~~

From the initial contact through the completed work, these people were great. I have an old farm house that was torn down and re-constructed in it's current location by the original owner in the late 1940's. They did not use proper construction processes and I am the one who now has to deal with this. For one thing, they built the support structure too close to the ground. Falcone workers had to dig in to get to the rotted timbers and replace, attach joists and level. They did an outstanding job and leveled the floor to my satisfaction. I will have them back to do additional work that should be done to the crawl space area. This work is not cheap because of the extensive labor but I could have spent 3 times as much in an interior make over but would have wasted my money if the support structure was not corrected.

We do not recommend Falcone due to the fact they do not have your best interest at heart. They did some joist repairs and moisture control work under our house and overcharged for the repairs. When we called and questioned their pricing after the repairs were completed we were told the time to question the pricing would have been before the repairs were done. It's hard to question something when you don't know what is going to be done.
