Shor Construction was hired in 2017 to install gutters around the whole house and to install Milgard replacement windows and sliding door and a garden window which had to be custom built. They did a beautiful job. I watched the whole thing. They had one guy just following the installers and cleaning up as they went. They did the gutters in a couple of hours one day and the windows on another day. I was very impressed with how organized and hard working they were. They left the house and yard spotless and even came by again to inspect every window and verify that everything was installed and working properly. They really performed. I'm writing this now because I just referred them to a contact and needed to look up their number and realized I had never written an online comment. I saw a couple of negative comments, but we had no problems at all with their performance.

The work that this company was incredible and it came out perfect. Roye, came over to our house and was the main person that we dealt with. He was able to provide us with a great design of the new kitchen that included the new color of the paint, the new style and combinations of the cabinets, the look of the wood floor and the lighting & outlets. The work started 3 weeks after we wrapped everything and we finalized the kitchen and prices. During this period of time, Roye made sure to order most of the materials to our house and to have them delivered ASAP. Workers came over each day and they did what they should do. Roye came over almost every day to the house to check and see progress. During the work, we had a lot of questions and ideas that Roye and his people were able to answer to all of them without complaining what’s or ever. Very human relations and down to earth people to deal with.

We wanted to get estimates for replacing our rotting redwood deck. The person who showed up seemed professional and friendly. He took some measurements and gave us an estimate. However, it's been 3 weeks, and despite the numerous phone calls and text messages, I never received any call backs, nor any email with estimates (as promised). I'm so baffled as to why would a company take the time to visit our home and examine the deck and not follow up?!

Installer did great work except tile in closet could be seen under the door. Gave me a ridiculously high price on a laminate floor repair and then walked all over my house kicking the laminate floor creating gaps that had not existed before. I asked him to fix it and he refused saying he didn't do anything. I walked with him and saw what he did. Once they got their money they would not return my calls about correcting the tile. Their office staff are very rude and nasty.

Shor construction began our remodel at the end of July. They left the debris on the corner of our driveway and a pile in the back yard for 6 weeks. They laid tile on the floor in the kitchen, and it was just plain terrible! It had to be taken up and redone, the grout lines were different widths and the tiles were uneven. The upgraded cabinets they put in, are no upgrade from the oak cabinets they took out!!! And you wouldn't believe the gaps between the ceiling and the trim!!! They have placed the quartz counters, but not the back splash! In our bathroom, there is only the lath for the tile, but that didn't pass inspection because they didn't use the correct method to attach the lath to the wall!!!. It is now October, we still don't have a functioning kitchen or bathroom! We have been prisoners in our home for 10-12 days at a time waiting for someone to show up for work! They don't let us know when anyone is coming to anything!!!! Plus, these jokers don't even havee the decency let us when the inspector is going to come out!!!! We know that there is an inspection due, so one of us has to stay home with dogs in the house so we can leave the gate open for the inspector to drive in. This remodel is not even half finished, and we are sick of living out of boxes, sharing the little bathroom in the front hall, and cooking on make shift cook tops and electric oven in the garage. This has made my wife and I very cranky and curt with each other!!!! No one should have to go thru this, and I wouldn't recomend Shor Constuction for anything!!! This review only touches the tip of the iceberg...and is about as nice as I can put it, but it doesn't reflect my wife's or my own true feelings about this remodel

We are so pleased with our kitchen and just completed full basement remodel. There are so many companies but Shor Construction and his team provide exceptional design, craftsmanship and super customer service. On time, on budget and always detail oriented. We are amazed at the outcome and will always return to Shor construction

Beware!! I'm quite confident this company is simply out to scam people and get deposits for work they promise and will never deliver. I sincerely doubt that any of the positive reviews on here are real. My experience was with Joel Schrager, and to say the least it has been horrible. I could go on and on, but will try summarize as best I can: Bottom line - I paid them $2,500 to have Shor come up with a design and a floorplan, which was to be approved by the city to get a permit for the work to be done. I had to continually follow up with them to find out the status and push them to get anything done. They finally submitted to me an initial design plan. They then had to have some things modified in order to get the permit approved by the City. Now I have been told that the permit is ready to pick-up which is great...However, Joel Schrager at Shor will not send me the finalized plans and the structural plans for the project. I was also originally told a rough estimate of what the project would cost. After not providing me with finalized plans, Joel then went on to tell me the actual cost would be 50% higher than the original estimate. After insisting that he still provide a quote for the work to be done, I was never given a quote, since he claimed Shor is too busy for the next few months. I advised that I was not in a hurry for a quote, and to still provide me with a detailed quote and to provide me with the finalized plans. He has never gotten back to me. Now after paying Joel $2,500 for a deposit, all I have to show for it is a simple PDF design. Any other contractor that actually ends up having to do the work for this project will need to have actual plans drawn up separately and approved by the city, which will likely cost another $2,500 or more. Avoid the headache and save your money...Stay away from Joel Schrager and Shor Construction.
