Underpinning The Rockies

Underpinning The Rockies has been the most positive experience I have had in this industry. We have had three projects done by them in the last few years and every experience was a joy. Our house is over 100 years old. They built a retaining wall in our basement where the soil was falling in(structural engineer was so impressed with their rebar work he asked for there contact info so he could recommend them), they did 23 total feet of foundation and are currently mitigating a horizontal crack and a joist that is dropping. From all the bids that we have gotten for all the jobs we have had they have shown to be incredibly affordable as well for the craftsmanship they produce. Mike is one of the most genuine people I have ever met and Tena was always so pleasant and was on top of working with the engineer to insure the project ran smooth. If i could give them more stars i would. I highly recommend Underpinning The Rockies!

We appreciated Mike's honesty regarding our concern. He did not over exaggerate the problem, rather, he told us that we simply had a fixable grading problem and that we did not require any repairs. This is rare, especially for a foundation repair company who is incentivized to create quotes for repairs. Strongly recommend!

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this company. They were hired to straighten a twisted beam in the basement that holds up all of the floor joists on the first floor of a home and they left, job "completed", with an engineer's stamp of approval and the beam still twisted. Their invoice said they would "straighten" the beam it was most certainly not straightened when they "finished" and the attached photo was the crooked post that was put up to hold it. When asked about if the work we saw was complete and for an explanation of why it's still twisted we were told "I forgot to put on the quote that we may not be able to straighten the beam". Went with another company to do the work instead who straightened it immediately. Very confused at the scope of this work to be honest and disappointed to say the least.

We where very happy with the work. The two workers where very knowledgeable about what they were doing. They also where very patient when we had questions and were happy to explain the process to us. We would not hesitate using them again in the future. Great company.

Mike Schmidt met with me at a property to do an inspection on a foundation. He was thorough, and generous with his time. He was fully available to give valuable insights and answer any questions I had. THEN he offered to return and do a free Elevation and baseline report! When I asked him why there was no cost, he said he wanted to make sure that I got a good property if I was going to proceed. THAT is the kind of human being he is. Kind! I highly recommend Underpinning the Rockies.

I have used Underpinning the Rockies for two separate projects now & absolutely recommend them! From the initial walkthrough with Mike to the project completion, the team was honest, hardworking and communicative. They will be our first call for any future grading or concrete work (and beyond)!

Mike came out for a consultation for our damp basement issue. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and able to identify the exact needs for our home while intentionally saving us money. Highly recommend going with his company over other competitors. He did not try to upsell us at all, unlike other companies we had reached out to.
