Golden Retrofit & Foundation Repair

I should have posted this review a long time ago. I used Golden Retrofit to complete my earthquake Brace and Bold foundation repair. Andy was my advisor and he was amazing to work with. Unlike other contractors, Andy took close to 100 pictures and was under my house for almost an hour during the initial consultation. Andy identified other issues that needed to be repaired. We hired Golden Retrofit to make the repairs. It took a few months to get the permit (not the fault of Golden, but rather the County of Ventura). Repairs were finally completed in January 2025. Golden Retrofit did an amazing job repairing my foundation. Seismic brackets were installed, new pillars were installed, and many cracks in concrete were repaired with epoxy. On top of the repairs, Andy's crew was on time and cleaned up after they were finished. The final inspection by the County of Ventura was smooth and I was issued my permit. I'm super happy with Golden Retrofit. I will use them again in the future. Thank you!

In reference to the Earthquake Brace + Bolt (EBB) program, I was referred to Golden Retrofit by my general contractor. While the EBB program recommends obtaining at least three quotes before selecting a contractor, I expanded my search to four different companies. A majority of the companies I contacted requested full payment for the project, with the expectation that I would receive the EBB check. One company estimated a project duration of 3-4 days. My final consultation was with Andy from Golden Retrofit. I immediately felt confident in Andy's expertise and professionalism. To my surprise, he informed me that Golden Retrofit would apply for the EBB check on my behalf, requiring only payment for my portion of the project cost. Additionally, he assured me that the project could be completed in just one day. The price quoted by Golden Retrofit, which included some foundation repairs not covered by the EBB program, was significantly lower than the other three offers I received. Upon hearing Andy's explanation of the process, I believed there must have been a mistake, but I promptly accepted their offer. The Golden Retrofit team completed the project efficiently within a single day and left the work area clean and tidy. Throughout the process, communication with Golden Retrofit was excellent, with regular follow-ups to ensure I was fully informed about the progress and expectations. It was an absolute pleasure working with Andy and the Golden Retrofit team. I highly recommend their services.

We booked the work three months in advance and were able to lock in the rate. As the date approached, communication from their team was seamless. Their admin staff was incredibly organized, sending text and email reminders—everything was easy and well-coordinated. When the crew arrived, they were friendly, respectful, clean, and extremely efficient. Every step of the project was explained to me thoroughly. There were no surprises, no messes, and no games. Just great work and great people. Daniella, the office manager, was fantastic with follow-ups and handling payment options. Yordin played a huge role in preparing us for the final city inspection, including tips on ensuring our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were up to code. He was personable, professional, honest, and full of integrity. He also handled my overly protective lil dog like a pro—calm, patient, and kind. You can’t teach that kind of people skill. Every single person I interacted with from Golden Retrofit was capable, respectful, and professional. I'm truly grateful for the work they did. Knowing our home’s foundation has been repaired properly—especially here in So Cal where earthquakes are a real concern—gives us peace of mind. And the new crawlspace access is outside now—yay! Golden Retrofit & Foundation Repair earned my trust, my business, and now, my highest recommendation. If you're on the fence, go with them. You won’t regret it.

Everyone at the company - from office staff to the work crew - was responsive, conscientious, and professional. Andy explained the complex process of getting an EBB grant and did a thorough inspection. He did a great job of explaining our options and what would benefit our house most. Golden Retrofit guided us capably through a very complex process, completed the work as promised, and celebrated with us as the inspection was signed off today. Tom and the team at Golden are incredible. They helped to inspect our home during escrow and even got us set up with some reinforcements and repairs down the road.
