OGD Overhead Garage Door

We made 3 appointments trying to get doors ordered and a quote. First time we got canceled on because of call outs. Second time was Thursday afternoon, we waited 2 hours just to call and find out the guy was an hour away and not done with whatever he was doing so we rescheduled for the next day. We were suppose to be the first person at 8am we waited until 10 just to find out the guy never finished the night before and was over an hour away still trying to finish… we have a 4 year old, 3 year old and 19 month old and were up early and drove the over 30 minutes to be there at 8am. This company has no regard for other people’s time. so basically we figured they didn’t want or need our business. Called a local place after 10am when we found out they wouldn’t be there and they had someone out at 10:30. I wouldn’t recommend them to my enemy. They have wasted hours of my time that I can’t get back. On top of that, there are businesses that want your business and respect your time. Horrible company.

Technician was very friendly took time to explain everything. Proceeded to do door tune up. Work done quickly and professionally. Can’t complain

My garage door spring broke this morning. Called OGD. Got a technician - Justin, out the same morning and it was fixed within about an hour. Justin was great, friendly, professional and explained everything to me. Would highly recommend.

Called in morning and they sent a service technician within the hour. Our service tech was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us. Would recommend them.

This past weekend, my garage door wouldn't open even when I unhooked the door from the garage door opener. I contacted OGD over the weekend and got a return call back on Sunday with a appointment first thing today which is Monday, 7/28/25. Joey, the repairman, who diagnosed my garage door issue--- clearly explained the problem, resolved the issue faster than I expected and was professional, and courteous, and took pride in his work throughout the entire job. The work involved: a single spring package replacement and a torsion cable set replacement. As a veteran, I received a 5% discount from the total bill, I would recommend OGD to those who read this post and to my friends and family. Robert H. Round Rock, TX.

I have used this company on three separate occasions. After the third appointment, I would not consider recommending their services. The positives: on all three occasions, the technicians showed up on time and fixed the issue(s) during the appointment. The negatives: the work is not warrantied to a degree that I would find satisfactory and any return trip is priced above what I would consider fair. Description of most recent appointment: I arranged for a repair appointment for my parents' garage. The belt had come detached from the garage door - there is a bolt attached to the belt that fits through a wing and is secured by a tension nut - what I would describe as a minor job for a technician. The garage door opening system is relatively new - installed by OGD just one year ago (summer 2024). I asked the dispatcher about a warranty since the system was not old and was told that there is no warranty on labor but a warranty on parts and that there would be a trip charge of $69. I found that acceptable (but not great). After the work was done, I found out that my father was charged $280. OGD claimed the technician was there for 45 minutes and did a tune up as well (that still does not amount to $280 in my opinion). I was not there during the time of the appointment - but my father and brother-in-law were there and they both described the repair as taking a short time to complete, 10-15 minutes and that if the technician was there for 45 minutes, several minutes were spent chatting and doing other work not related to reattaching the belt. A new garage door system can be purchased off the shelf for around $280. Other garage door maintenance and install companies will warranty their work - since OGD does not, I cannot recommend them. However, if you are having an emergency which outweighs cost considerations and need a tech to come out right away, then you might consider OGD as an option.

OGD installed a "new" garage door a few years at our house. They were very high-pressure sales pitchy with us at the time, but we went with them out of desperation. The door they installed has always been extremely loud and shaky when opening and closing, even after we called them back out to fix it. This past weekend the spring broke, so we called a more reputable company. We found out that the spring they installed was two sizes too small for our door, and the technician suspected that the door OGD installed was used at the time of install. It has all of these extra steel trellises that are not OEM and not necessary for our situation, weighing down the door considerably. This makes sense given how rickety and loud the door has been since day one. I believe we were scammed by this company with a bait and switch technique to unload a used door on us. Buyer beware!
