Tech came out, pulled on the manual release cord, stated the motor needed replacing, quoted $2500 and left. He didn’t examine the motor. He didn’t look at the sensors. He didn’t attempt to trigger the door to raise or lower. He did nothing, gave a quote and left after demanding the $125 service charge. The door and motor are only a couple years old (3-4?) and probably don’t need replacing, but I don’t know because he didn’t examine them. Company stated they don’t sell Genie motors or parts so the only option is replacement. Their website clearly lists Genie as a brand they service, with a picture of the Genie logo. I could not be less satisfied with the entire experience.

OGD provided accurate time estimates for our project. Both technicians we worked with were professional and friendly. Christian installed our new doors and he was very thorough. He took extra time to get the door properly aligned and running smoothly. I was very pleased.

Be careful if you use this company. I called them and they sent out a tech to give me an estimate. When I spoke to him on the phone he told me that I had a broke spring. He told me that when they replace the spring, the kit comes with new bearings, cables and a 5 year warranty. I was shocked when he quoted me the price...$574.00. I told him that was quite a bit more than I anticipated. He told me that he didn't set the pricing it was all done by the company. Reluctantly, I agreed because I needed my wife to be able to get her car out of the garage. I called back to the toll free number to ask some questions. I was transferred to "Customer Support." When I asked about the price, the lady said that they do in fact set all of the pricing, but she said mine cost that much because I selected the premium package where everything gets replaced. I told her that I wasn't given options on any different packages, just the one. She said did you ask the technician if there were any cheaper options? Did you ask him if your door really needed all of the part? I tried to explain to her that I'm not the expert on garage doors and I didn't know that I needed to ask those questions. I feel like if there are options available they should be given to the customer so that they can decide what they would like to do. The Tech spent 75% of the time on our phone call trying to upsale me and talk me in to going ahead and doing all 3 of my doors today, even though we only had an issue with the one door. I told the customer service lady that as well and her exact words to me were..."It sounds like he was giving you options." From the time that I got off the phone with the tech, calling my wife back to discuss, and then her giving them the okay to do the job to him being finished and ready for payment was 40 minute. It took him somewhere around 20-25 minutes to do what he did...Whatever that was.

OGD is wonderful! They returned my call promptly, came when they said they would, and provided an app to track when the technician would arrive. When he got here, he not only programmed all three remotes for me, but also serviced and lubricated the spring and tracks. He explained how often we'd want to lubricate everything, and explained everything he was doing. Great company, great service, what more could you want?

OGD Garage Door: Where "Routine Tune-Up" Turns into Highway Robbery I called OGD Garage Door for what I thought would be a simple, routine tune-up on my single garage door. The woman on the phone was pleasant enough and clearly stated that a regular tune-up—including lubrication and chain load adjustment—would cost $59 plus tax. I even double-checked what that included, just to be sure. Silly me for assuming clarity over the phone meant clarity in service. Fast forward to the technician’s arrival: he promptly handed me a quote for $309 for the same "routine" tune-up. When I mentioned the $59 quote, he informed me—rather assertively—that it was merely the inspection fee, not the actual service. Interesting how that detail was never mentioned during the call. When I asked for the call recording to clarify things with my attorney, the technician suddenly lost his enthusiasm for debate and left without another word. If you enjoy surprise charges, miscommunication, and being treated like you’re the one causing trouble, OGD might be just the experience you’re looking for. As for me, I’ll be taking my garage door—and my trust—elsewhere.

Please do not use this company. They are not ethical and use deceptive business practices. I purchased a garage door opener and it was installed incorrectly according to their representative. The unit was under warranty and I was told there would be a $59 service fee. I was charged $234 dollars to correct the original installation that was done by them. I called and spoke to Brianna the manager and told her this and how I was mislead there would only be a $59 service charge. She was not helpful in resolving this. I regret trusting them hope you don’t get taken advantage of by them like I was.

Brad G. provided excellent service. He explained the steps he would be taking to determine the charge for the work to be done. After I agreed to the charge, he explained exactly what he would be doing. Upon completion, he reviewed exactly what he did and why as well as explaining the warranty. He was very personable and professional.
