The team at California Door and Frame did a fantastic job with our hardware. We needed hardware for two doors. Tiffany was a big help in the showroom. We found great products. Harold prepared the quote very quickly and completely. He updated the quote based on a few questions we had. He was very professional and knowledgeable. California Door and Frame treated our admittedly small project with care and expertise. Highly recommend this great local business!

These guys are the folks to go to if you’re in a jam. I needed two doors with mortisses cut out and lock placement cut out same day. They were able to get me taken care of in short order, they even prioritized my job because I needed to pass a home inspection the next day. Pricing was reasonable given the ask. 10/10 recommend them. Make sure to being your old door if you have it or have precise measurements on hand! Thanks again, Harold and Team!

So I ordered the door seen darker in the first picture but what I recieved at my door was a white door! I refused the delivery and called the store only to be berated. Two people took my order and I was very clear on the color/stain I expected. Furthermore I thought you can’t mess this up when I the customer are pointing at an exact copy of what I want in the floor model that is ten feet from us. After twice the wait the door arrives late to me…wrong color and they didn’t bother doing the jams!! See my photo. I don’t know what to do because I don’t want my property unsecured and wait another two months for the correct door. And the screws are exposed in the jam needing to be sawed off for mounting too. Their lack of customer care and the incompetence is staggering. What should I do?

Beware of this business. Influenced by the excellent BBB Rating, I engaged California Door and Frame to replace the garage entry door because there was visible dry rot on the frame. The price was $2,253.77. I was very disappointed in the quality of the work and the performance of the employees. The phone representative stated the whole door had to be replaced because they were pre-hung. The installer was sent to measure the door. At that appointment I emphasized to the installer that I wanted to inspect the door frame after he had removed the door. When he returned with the new door I reminded him I wanted to inspect the frame after he removed the door. I was home and he knocked on the door to ask if he could use an electrical outlet. The next time he knocked on the door was after he had installed the new door and frame. He stated that he "decided not" to show me the underlying wood, that he "had looked at it". I called the company. The boss sent the installer back out to remove the door so I could inspect the frame and there was dry rot, so the installer had to replace that also. Another phone representative called me a week later stating that I owed $1,540.70. I had paid $730.00, and $810.67 and still owed $713.10. I wrote a letter to the boss and sent it with a check for $713.10. The phone representative called me again 5 days later and said I still owed $730.00. I spoke to the boss, who claimed not to have seen the letter. After some discussion, the boss said he just wanted me to be happy. I am disappointed that the BBB does not publish negative reviews, and will not rely on BBB again.

Stopped by here yesterday after trying another shop that we discovered was appointment only just to see the showroom. Was a little concerned with the reviews but they are also very old. Met Rebecca at the front counter and she was terrific. Helped us with all the information we were looking for and was very friendly. We haven't made a decision yet on who to go with but this shop will certainly be at the top of our list.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I've purchased doors from these folks for two projects now and have had no issues whatsoever. Solid core shaker doors at a price substantially below the competition. The fellow I dealt with was very good, walked through what I wanted and delivered a high quality product. The contractor I worked with was so impressed with the price and the quality that he has used California door for several of his other projects in the Bay area. I have one last project to complete - custom closet doors for the master. I want to match the shaker look - and I will be going there first to see if they can deliver. I would definitely recommend these folks - the price and quality are top notch.
