OGD Overhead Garage Door

The customer service at this company is extremely poor. I ordered a door from them and set a date for it to be installed. We pushed the date back once because of construction delays. The company then pushed us back because issues with one of their installers. Once the doors were installed, we noticed they were damaged and the tech that installed them helped us document they needed to be replaced. The company never proactively contacted me to set a time to fix the problem. I had to continuously follow up with them to ask for a re-install date. They set a date numerous times and then cancelled the re-install the day before or the day of the appointment. When the job was finally completed, they asked for my feedback. My feedback to the company: "The garage doors were installed and we and the tech noticed they were damaged. He helped us document we needed to make a warranty claim. We put in the claim and the doors finally got fixed. However, I felt that if I did not push the issue it would never have gotten replaced. Also, my re-install appointments were cancelled last minute a number of times. This was very frustrating. I also never got a call from the company with any updates, I always had to call to find out what was going on. I do feel the company should do something in order to make us feel better about them." Their reply: "We apologize for falling short of your expectations. We understand your frustration with cancelled appointments and communication gaps. Thank you." I called to tell them that their reply was not sufficient to make me feel better about their company. I was told someone would call me back to address my concerns. As you can guess that did not happen. I called them three times and finally informed them that if they did not reply I would post a negative review. Since I have not received a response, I am posting this review.

Gary was super nice and did a great job despite a few mishaps in particular with an emergency that he had to take care and had to leave however took care of me by completing the garage door installation the next day. Thank you so much Gary.

Your service tech, Chad Dudley, was at my house by 8:00 AM. My garage door was completely dead and wouldn’t even open. Chad explained to me what needed to be done. He provided me with optional quotes before he started the work. He was very knowledgeable and personable. Chad is a wonderful representative of OGD.I give him 10 ⭐️’s!!!

I’ll just say that Gary S. who performed the service today pulled the OGD rating from 0 to 4. The initial install left the door (8’ double) unbalanced, unknowing to me until my grandson pulled the release cord and the door came crashing down with full force, missing my wife and 5 year old grandson by inches. When I called OGD, the person who answered the phone told me that is the way it should work. He knew nothing about a door being balanced. Even said he googled it and that it should come crashing down. Fast forward to Gary who stated he was glad no one was hurt, and apologized for the door crashing down, and he fully confirmed the door should not operate that way. He balanced the door perfectly. His expertise, attitude and personality restored confidence in OGD.

AVOID AT ALL COST……THE WORST As a veteran, it saddens me that I have to write this review as I normally support veteran owned businesses, but i cannot support this company. This garage door install has been a journey that started on May 10th and it was finally finalized today on Sept 12th. From wrong doors ordered (twice) ghosting, making sad excuses for everything, to a Director blaming the reception staff for wrong dates to show up and complete the work. Its been a trying 4 months just to have 2 garage doors installed and properly functioning again. At one point, I could not even use my garage for 36 days because they left one old door stacked in my garage and never came to get it, regardless of how many calls I made. Just a terrible experience and even worse leadership within the company. Saddens me that I cannot recommend a veteran owned company due to the lack of attention to detail, communication, and basic customer service. As a retired veteran living in a large military city, I truly have to say that I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. They clearly do not value their customers, nor do they care about the quality of service they provide. You will not be able to escalate your issues past the "Door Manager" department, which is the complete problem. Apparently no one exists beyond that level and the Director of the department is the end all full stop person to deal with. Again, he is the main issue. When you ask the front desk who is higher than this person you will be hung up on. This happened several times when asking for higher management. I wish I would have stayed away from this company from the get go. BE WARNED.

Gary from Tampa arrived only 2-3 minutes from the 3 hour window for arrival. He was personable, knowledgeable and above all honest and trustworthy. Overall communications via text were precise and responses very timely. Highly recommend.

Gary was very professional and took pride in his work. Great Job, Gary!
