Hired Joel to install a TPO roof for a 10 by 10 shed I built. Price seemed fair, though when he came for me to sign contract, he informed me he would have to swap out the agreed upon DensDeck underlayment for a cheaper Atlas product if I wanted to keep the same price. Seemed a bit of a bait and switch, but I agreed to the change regardless. He started the job a week later. He told me he would have to remove three fascia boards around the shed perimeter in order to have room to install the metal roof cap. Joel didn't seem to like it if I asked him too many questions about how the job was going, so I just decided to let him do his work and I would check the job after he was gone. After he completed the job, I had a look and first saw that the fascia boards were uneven and bowed. Upon closer inspection, I could see that all of the 22 screws he had used to re-attach the fascia boards were completely stripped. This was obviously a problem, as it would be extremely difficult to remove the stripped screws in order to prime and paint the boards. I called Joel to explain the problem, and he immediately claimed that the screws had already been stripped before he arrived on the job. I told him that was impossible, as if they had already been stripped, there is no way he would have been able to remove the boards and then reinstall them if the screws were already stripped. Instead of owning up to the mistake, he just started practically yelling at me. I tried to stop his shouting, but he just rudely hung up on me. He then texted me that I "should be grateful" that he put the boards back on for free and that somehow I was the one who was not being professional. That comment was absurd—yes, he put them on for free, but he also ruined them "for free." I hired someone to attempt to remove the boards with a pry bar and hacksaw, but this just ended up wrecking all the boards. I can tolerate a contractor who is unfriendly or dismissive as long as the work is done professionally and correctly. Unfortunately, the way Joel handled this situation and wasn’t truthful about the screw debacle makes me second-guess whether corners were cut on the roof itself. Only time will tell if the roof was done properly, but his actions and behavior don’t give me any confidence at all.

Joel and his team did an amazing job installing copper gutters on our home on Ontare Rd. The work looks beautiful and really adds to the house. Super professional, easy to work with, and the quality is top-notch. Definitely a 5-star job!
