My son’s closet ceiling fell in - ugh, what a mess! Nelson to the rescue. After an estimate from the "other guy" who stood in the backyard and sent his drone up, Nelson came over, within a few hours of when I called him, and got up on the roof himself (right after a rain storm!). He showed us pictures of the roof and what he thought was causing the problem: the damage wasn't obvious. So nice to have that small business touch - to talk to the owner, the one who would be doing the work. Best new yet, his estimate was half Mr. Other Guy’s! Needless to say, we booked him. Nelson did a great job, always in touch with kind communication. After he finished, he didn’t bill us right away; instead he waited until a heavy rain and then had me check to make sure the leak in the closet was truly fixed. Nelson’s a sweetheart and a pro. To top it off - he fixed some broken tiles on the front of my house (see pic). I didn’t even ask! That’s service.

Nelson at Matrix is the true benefit of working with this company. He is a human, something missing from many of the contractors you may interact with. When my father was sick and I overnight took over responsibility for repairs, I had no idea what to do with a broken roof. Nelson understood my situation, repaired the roof within a day, charged me a fair price, and still checks in to make sure things are going well. A good business, a better man.

We hired Nelson to replace our old, leaking tar and gravel roof with a new membrane roof. I would highly recommend him to anyone having issues with their roof. Nelson was fantastic to work with - he was prompt in his responses and gave us updates about the project as he worked. He did an amazing job for us and clearly takes an incredible amount of pride in the excellent work he does (deservedly so).

Nelson has been roofing for decades. He was familiar with my slate roof, identified the cracks and holes, and repaired it for a reasonable price. No more leak! He's up front about prices. No surprises. His giving me a 3-year warranty on his work speaks to his integrity.

Nelson was AMAZING! I hit him up and he was out the next day with GREAT prices and service/results! I had been shopping around for a little while and getting companies asking for ridiculous prices until I came across Nelson’s sign posted in my neighborhood’s yard. Based off of the end result you wouldn’t know that his specialty is roofing the way my gutter and siding came out! AMAZING JOB!

Nelson Peña is unlike any contractor I’ve ever worked with — honest, knowledgeable, and truly a man of integrity. His estimate was comparable to other contractors, but the difference in professionalism, competence, and thoroughness was night and day. Nelson took the time to educate me on every step of my roof repair and made the entire process stress-free. This level of care and transparency is rare and should be the standard for all contractors. I’m so impressed that I’m also hiring Matrix for a complete roof replacement on another property. Highly recommend!
