The 1 star is for contracting a bad tree company, Xylem, to "trim" the trees around the power lines. I completely agree with the necessity for doing this. However we’ve lived in the same house for 12 years. Previous tree trimming companies were decent. Xylem one cut half our maple tree which was more than 15 feet from the lines. The tree was barely touched by others in the past. They also cut all the understory which was 10 or more feet below the lines. They left Debis everywhere. I plan on sending them a bill for removal of trees that die and the cost to replace. Please find a new company so you don’t have more complaints. A valued customer.

I had scheduled to turn power on for an apartment I was moving into. The first person I called messed up so bad with scheduling. She had scheduled and rescheduled 4 different times for someone to come out to turn power back on. Waited each of the 4 days and had lined someone to be at my house to turn the breaker off and took multiple days off myself to try and wait for the chance someone might show up. Each time was left disappointed. Finally was told someone was going to turn it on the 16th. After another 9 hrs of waiting. Still no power and I’ve extended my move out date as long as I could. Thanks to national grid so called "great employees" messing up yet again, and all they could do as an apology is give credit towards the next bill. If I could give zero stars, I would.

This company is the absolute worst. Very expensive service delivery fee yet my power has gone out 3-4 times this month alone for extended periods and they offer no explanation or compensation. It's concerning that this keeps happening as it's moving into winter. Too bad we don't have any other options for our energy needs.

National Grid is hands down the worst service I’ve ever dealt with in the U.S. Every time I call, the average wait time is 40 minutes. I scheduled a reconnection appointment a week in advance, and guess what? No one showed up. I called again the same day and the next available appointment was a month out—after another almost hour hold. Scheduled again, and no surprise, they no-showed again! What’s the point of making an appointment if you just keep ghosting us?! National grid! Called again today, right now! I’ve been on call with the customer service for 2 hours and 22 minutes, as I’m writing this review, the rep still hasn’t been able to get me the next appointment. National Grid makes all the money while we, regular people, get screwed over and over. If anyone knows how to file a complaint against this garbage company with the government, please let me know. Thanks.

They are just unprofessional. I took applications 4 times for the gas meter but they did not show up and customer service doesn’t have any information. They asked me to be at home from 8 am to 4 pm and I wait in the cold water and nobody came. This is frustrating. They already have bad ratings but who cares!

They cut my dads power off am he's an medical patient. What's crazy is that they knew this so in the midst of going through a bunch of loopholes and endless wait times they never showed up to fix the problem, come to find out they cut his power because the previous tenant didn't pay! My elderly father has been the dark without his medical machine and medicine and it's officially been three days! If something happens to my father I will definitely be pressing charges, not to mention they transfer you to the wrong services. Upstate New York so why am I being transfered to long island?!

OWES US HUNDREDS $$$!! This company has been charging us for another apartment’s electric bill for more than half a year and despite countless phone calls and hour on hold with their terrible customer service reps, we STILL are getting charged for it. Even when they send employees out to check our metering, they never update our billing. Beyond frustrated and can’t express how much we have tried to fix the issue and they still don’t help us. They just keep transferring you to different departments on the phone until you either give up or they drop your call completely.
