Resolve Pest Solutions

I’m not sure Resolve Pest Solutions is even a legitimate business or that the positive reviews aren’t all from Mike’s family and friends. We rent, so we went through our landlord to handle a pest issue. We would otherwise have never chosen Resolve given the other reviews with similar experiences. At first, we were told the inspection would happen "after 3:00 PM." A few hours later our landlord updates us and says that Mike will be coming out at 5:00 PM. By 5:30, we’ve heard nothing and Mike hasn’t arrived. We contact our landlord, who informs us Mike will be coming at 6:00 PM and he’s finishing a job nearby. Sure enough 6:00 PM rolls around and no word from Mike. He just no-shows. Our landlord said he called her back three hours later at 9:00 PM and rescheduled for two full days later at 6:00 PM. The two days go by and Mike completely ghosted us again. No call and no inspection. We inform our landlord, who then reached out to Mike again. He offered to be at our apartment "in 20 minutes." It was 7:30 PM at this point so we just requested we go with a different company. I truly cannot understand a small business owner caring this little about professionalism and project management. Mike almost seems like he doesn’t want to make money or have a successful business. We also noticed that their business hours are listed as closing at 6:00 PM. Makes me wonder if he ever had any intention of coming out. Honestly, I’m glad this panned out the way it did, because I would never want a company run by Mike treating my apartment. And especially seeing the other reviews discussing how rude he is in person, I think we dodged a bullet. I could never trust a pest company to do their job effectively if they can’t maintain a client schedule, communicate, or show basic respect.

My landlord uses this company and Mike was the one working with me the tenant as my landlord was out of town. Mike is extremely unprofessional, incompetent, and lacks basic project management skills. He forgot to show up for the diagnostic, so we rescheduled and he showed up extremely late for it. The result of his diagnosis was to patch a sewer line. This was a 1 week job and I had to inform him what has been done as he had no clue what his crew was doing. He also did not keep up his end of the deal and remove subsequent rats that come after the job, and the one that he did, he left a blood stain that he did not bother to clean. Fast forward a few months and the rat problem comes back. My landlord asks me to work with him as she is out of town. He bails on his appointments and then eventually shows up to my house with his dog, told me he would clean up the rat in the trap the next day and the blood stain from before. He never showed up the next day and I decided to inform my landlord I was not comfortable with him entering my unit anymore. Mike from resolve is the most incompetent and unprofessional contractor I have ever met. If this were not my landlords person, I would have never dealt with someone With such poor basic business and project management skills.

I own a property management company in Chicago with a little over 2,000 units under management. Mike is always helpful and keeps our properties pest free. They actually find out what the cause of any issues are and send proposals and videos. I highly recommend them!

We have used Resolve Pest Solutions twice and been very satisfied both times with the experiences and outcomes. Initially, we called them about a rat issue. The critters were coming in through an ancient unused drainage pipe in the basement. Unlike the other services we contacted, which never attempted to identify the source of the problem, Resolve thoroughly inspected the basement and found the means of entry. They closed off the pipe to stop further migration, placed traps and our problem was solved. The price was fair and they were very responsive to concerns about using any sort of poison in a house with young children. We also used the company for a bed bug scare in a rental unit. No bugs were found on the premises, but after treating the unit, Resolve came back twice to inspect, treat and allay any fears of infestation at no additional cost. Mike is pleasant and honest and stands behind his service. I recommend him highly.

Three years ago, after seeing multiple rats running through our yard, and even catching one in a snap trap, we called Resolve. They installed a "rat barrier" around the interior perimeter of our yard, and guaranteed no rats for 3 years (it worked -- knock on wood that it continues!). More recently, they came out to investigate what looked like a sinkhole, indicating rat activity from a different source. Resolve drilled through our concrete, sent photos and video of the damaged downspout below, then made all the necessary repairs and replaced the concrete. These guys are great and know what they're doing!

Well engineered solution to our rodent problem! We had rats that had burrowed under our a/c units. First, they put bait down to provide an immediate start to the solution. Second, Lloyd came out and surveyed the situation, and called me direct to walk through how they would fix the area. They showed up 2-days later and it was quite the engineering solution, as our units sit along a narrow gangway next to our deck. They lifted the units, dug out the burrows, leveled and filled in with lime stone, put down a wire mesh, and then placed the pavers in a solid block (to prevent spacing) and put the a/c units back. It was done right and we are confident we won't be having any more issues. I will admit it did take 2-weeks of steady follow up to get things moving, but everyone was respectful about it and we are very happy.

Really frustrated with this company. As several other reviewers have noted, there is zero communication or follow through with these guys. I called Mike and he was busy so he said he'd call me back...never heard. Finally called him again. He took another call while we were chatting, then said he'd show up at 3. Never showed. I called at 6 and he said he'd come by at 7. Never showed. No follow up call, no email, nothing. Just vanished. I could probably call again but what's the point? I'll get another promise to show up and never hear anything back. If you're not able to make a meeting a phone call rescheduling is the BARE minimum for someone you are hoping to do business with! If you can't even manage that I can't imagine what your actual service is like and certainly don't trust you to complete the work. I highly discourage you from using these guys. Waste of time and you'll just be frustrated in the end no closer to actually getting your pest problem solved.
