Blue Jay Termite-Pest Control

Wow! I just read some of the terrible reviews given. I am wondering if some reviewed the wrong company. I have had Blue Jay Pest for over 7 years! Erica is the one I always talk to any time they schedule an appointment, if i need a come back spray, forgot to leave a check, contract change, ect. Erica is awesome. She takes care of everything person-ably and efficiently. I was approached by another company to use there service cheaper but i felt that Blue Jay was best for our needs!

The lady who does the scheduling was awesome, nice, and accommodating, I expected service would be the same. We have had a bat problem as of late, 5 bats have gotten into our house the last week, and a total of 8 over the year. We are scared, and completely over them getting into our house, My roommate even got bit by a bat! I expected they would come take care of the problem and give answers on how they were planning but to fix our problem. We had a 20 minute "inspection", he and I looked for holes inside our house. He then left us some steel wool to "fill the holes" ourselves. You trying to tell me we’re supposed to pay over $100 for some steel wool? We were hoping to pay them to fix the point of entry, for good. What a waste of time, anxiety, and money. He also came to our residence an hour and a half earlier than scheduled, he’s lucky someone was home. Now they are saying "they don’t have a customer with my name" and they don’t charge $100 for a bat inspection on my review. I will be calling tomorrow. A bat enterered our residence the next night. We called another company, a MUCH BETTER EXPERIENCE. Netting and tape was up outside of our residence the next day, he explained the issues, gave us a price quote on how much would cost etc. basically everything I’d expect a pest service to do. Way to go other guys!

This was the worst company I have ever worked with. I requested a inspection for bed bugs and they seemed really happy and easy to work with over the phone. When the inspector came he let himself into my house (a rental) without prior permission, he spent less than ten minutes inspecting a three bedroom, three story home. He told me there were no sign of bed bugs and that I was just getting spider bites, even after I showed him a photo of the bed bug that I found. I asked if there was any thing we could do and he said no and left my house. I immediately called the office and the front desk suggested I must have been sleeping when the inspector knocked, they were sorry they couldn't find anything because bed bugs are nocturnal, and then I was told they didn't have to disclose a course of action to me, since it was a rental. However, my landlord requested I search for inspections and quotes myself and keep him in the loop and I was sitting on my couch waiting for the inspector to show up, I was not sleeping like she suggested. I then called another company to ask for a second opinion, this company spent a full hour in my house, stripped my beds, flipped my couches and upon completion of inspection was able to show me areas with obvious signs of bed bugs and was able to go over the course of action needed. I couldn't believe that a company with "great" reviews like Blue Jay would act the way the did, I even filed a BBB report in which I received an email stating the company said I wasn't a customer. This is ridiculous, I would never suggest this company to anyone.

I have an older house and spiders are not what I want to deal with. Blue Jay has been great to deal with. I have asthma and can't have a chemical smell left behind and there never was. I have had them coming out quarterly for several years. I also had to have termite service done on my home and they were great working with me and my stubborn house. They come out every year to inspect and they have never been back!

I live in a public housing development in South Omaha. Blue Jay is the company that does the pest control monthly. I have never once refused service but I have an EXTREME cockroach infestation in my apartment. Im not sure how long they have been using the advion sygenta gel bait, but unfortunately the roaches here have mutated and are now immune to it. Also, they don't treat under any outlet covers or light switch covers. They spray the kitchen and the bathroom. That's it. They use spray and gel bait in combination which makes both drastically ineffective. I FINALLY found a spray that my mom's cable guy told her about and just this past weekend I have seen a DRAMATIC decrease in the amount of roaches. Finally finding dead ones everywhere! I definitely do NOT recommend Blue Jay to anybody. They do have some nice and friendly people that work for them but that's the only positive thing I can think to say about them. Their treatments are definitely ineffective. I have been living here just over a year, sleeping with roaches everynight. Since I took matters into my own hands I am getting closer each day to not having those nasty, disgusting, dirty bugs living with me rent free anymore. I will definitely be refusing their services from here on out!

I live in south Omaha in public housing and this is the company they use. They come every second Friday of the month. With their service, and my own regimen on bug killer (diatomaceous earth food grade powder) and a special coachroach spray from Walmart And pouring bleach down my drains once a week I have 0 issues with ANY BUGS. When I first signed the lease I saw 10ish dead roaches and live ones in the shower drain. So instead on moving in right away I cleaned all the bugs, had blue jay come out, then me and my mom deep cleaned the entire apartment and put down our powder EVERYWHERE (very thin dusting) I havnt seen no bugs of any kind in the now 3 months I’ve lived here. I keep my apartment clean, and actively do maintenance because I know the entire building has roaches and that’s just a fact. But my apartment sure doesn’t have any roaches, bed bugs, spiders, etc etc.

We have had them for a while and signed up for their quarterly plan. They are quick to want their payment but laugh at you when you call to tell them you are having issues with their service. We will not be using them again as they have yet to help control our problem with carpenter ants. Buyer Beware.
