Big Boy Plumber

I had a terrible experience with Big Boy Plumbing, dispatched through my home warranty to replace my water heater. The technician/owner Rick required payment for modifications, specifically to replace a PVC pipe with copper, which I paid for upfront. However, he never replaced the pipe as promised. To make matters worse, he rescheduled the follow-up appointment many times, each time claiming he would complete the job, but he never showed up or finished the work. When I complained to my home warranty, Rick told them I didn’t pay for the work. Complete lack of professionalism and reliability—avoid at all costs! And now he is claiming he gave me a discount, offered to do free work and I gave him a 1 ⭐️. He must think people are stupid

BEWARE!!! • Water heater replacement through Home Warranty • Big Boy Plumbing accepted the order, inspected, sent estimate for approval. Home Warranty did not agree with the amount and asked for it to be lowered.  While at my home for inspection, I asked him for a quote for replacing a water spicket since that was not covered under our warranty. He said $130. I asked if he would do it for $100 since he was already going to be there to replace the water heater. He agreed. • Ricardo, Big Boy Plumbing tried to schedule an appointment for the next day @ 7:30pm for the 3-hour job. He gave me another unreasonable day/time slots. I refused and said I would call Home Warranty to see what my options were. He changed his mind and said he would be there in the morning. • Approximately 45 minutes into the job, he knocked on my door to tell me there was a problem and it will cost an additional $150 to remove the door to the water heater closet. He confirmed he would ONLY need to remove the pins to the hinges. I was furious! I told Ricardo I would not pay for the price gouging and my husband would be home in 15 minutes. I attempted but was only able to get them halfway out. I went in my house to call my neighbor for help. In the meantime, Ricardo decided to get the door off himself, which took less than 2 minutes. When I went outside to meet my neighbor, Ricardo proceeded to tell me he already removed the door, so my neighbor walked away onto our patio. I told Ricardo I would NOT be paying the additional $150. He started yelling and berating me. He said I was trying to cheat him out of money because I asked for discounted pricing. I told him to get off my property if he was going to continue to disrespect me. The heated exchange continued for another couple of minutes until I told him I have a witness with my neighbor standing on my patio, which he did not see. He immediately started to change his tone and body language. The heated discussion improved. We both agreed for him to continue the work since he was already in the middle of the job. He definitely changed his demeanor once my husband showed up. • When I called home warranty company to file a complaint, they explained the Vendor is not supposed to add additional costs. • In addition, he did not complete all the work he stated to the Home Warranty he would provide. When I text him, he said he would send me back $50 in a check, but I never received it. I waited over a month to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he confirmed his integrity. • The whole situation was extremely unprofessional and wrong. No man should treat a woman so disrespectfully!

Ricardo is a great experienced plumber, shows up when you need him and has always been fair with his pricing!! Highly recommended!!

Do not use these guys. They were sent to my house through my home warranty company. They were at my house 5 minutes. Said they couldn’t fix the problem because they would have to go through the roof and the home warranty wouldn’t cover it. They left. Called me the next day and said "oh wait we actually might be able to fix it through the toilet and not go through the roof". But my claim had already been closed because they said in their report they would have to access through the roof. So my home warranty wanted another deductible to start a new claim. I called another plumber. And wow. Wouldn’t you believe it. He fixed it through the toilet in an hour. So a service that I should have gotten for free, through my home insurance I had to pay another plumber to do because these guys didn’t want to be thorough and figure out how we can fix the problem and screwed me out of a bunch of money.

Been using Big Boy Plumber for years now. Ricardo, the owner, has always been professional, punctual, fairly priced, and always delivers quality work. Today, he fixed a leaky toilet in about 20 minutes. In the past, he's done flange replacements and full-on toilet installations for us. Don't hesitate to give Big Boy Plumber a call!

Definitely a great professional plumber! We had a water heater go out but they are on it from the time they got the call! They communicated and kept me in the loop! If you need a plumber this is your guy!

I wanted to give a shout out to Big Boy Plumbing. The pilot went out on my hot water heater so I requested service through my home warranty. They sent Ricardo with Big Boy Plumbing, i received a phone call right away and he was at my home within 24hrs. After accessing the situation I was told the part needed to be replaced, that it had been ordered, it would be a few days, also the part would be delivered to me. Due to timing and other obligations Ricardo recruited another plumber to replace the part in his absence, however the plumber never showed or called. Ricardo followed up to ensure the situation had been taken care of. Upon him learning that his replacement was a no show he apologized and assured me he would take care of the situation. Later that same day Ricardo showed up after hours in the dark with a flashlight to replace the part. I really appreciate Big Boy Plumber's customer service, open communication and follow through.
