On 06/11/25, Leak Doctor came to my property but could not diagnose where my leak was coming from, even though the tub’s hot water valve wouldn’t close that same day (I had to close it myself with a wrench while the technician was there). Despite not identifying the problem, they still charged me for a "diagnostic." They promised to return the next day to confirm whether the valve was the issue. On day two, the technician instead claimed the problem was "grout failure," even though their own moisture meter showed no moisture in the wall where they said the grout had failed. I told the tech that the readings didn’t match his claim, but he insisted. Suspecting a misdiagnosis, I called another leak detection company. They quickly confirmed the leak was exactly what I suspected from day one - the hot water valve had busted open (while Leak Doctor’s first tech was here). The day-two tech simply didn’t want to reopen the faucet to check in case it wouldn’t close again, the same issue I had to fix myself on day one. When I called Ms. Hunter for a refund, she refused, saying because I "fixed it," they couldn’t diagnose it. This is false, all they had to do was open the valve to check, but they chose not to. I even had the grout professionally tested, and it was NOT grout failure. Ms. Hunter justified keeping my money by saying they "don’t 100% guarantee" their services, and offered to send yet another tech for a "third look," which would mean me losing yet another full day of work. As of 08/09/25, I am still disputing this charge. The images clearly show the water damage directly beneath the tub’s hot water valve, exactly where the leak was. This company had the tools, the access, and the opportunity to get it right, but instead gave me a false diagnosis and refused to take accountability. Per your response: I never said under my shower and as I said the first technician could close the tub faucet he needed me to do it because he couldn’t do it. The first technician didn’t give any diagnosis and said I still had to pay and that he would try again the next day. I questioned the second technician saying grout failure because the wall he claimed to have grout failure has sheetrock on the other side with no moisture whatsoever. The second technician gave a false diagnosis. I had another company come out and they confirmed it was not grout failure it was the tub faucet pipe bolt being faulty. You are trying to justify an inaccurate diagnosis. Why would I have a 4th day of missing work for a company who lied to me from the beginning and continues to try and justify lying to me….?
I have a plumbing company I told a customer to contact leak doctor to have a leak located. Leak doctor came out and said the leak was underneath the vanity sent the customer photos in the invoice. We arrived pulled the vanity jackhammer the floor and it was dry contacted leak doctor At 10:30 a.m. they told me they would have a tech out there between 12:00 and 2:00 at 2:00 I called them to see where the tech was and they said it would be another 20 minutes The tech finally showed up at 2:30 when he got there I informed him that there was no leak under the vanity and he told me oh well I wasn't sure it sounded loud there and it also sounded loud in the other bedroom so I said it was underneath the vanity. So instead of telling the customer they weren't sure they told the customer the wrong location. And then he still couldn't find it. Well talking to him he also told us that he does slab leak repairs on the side saying how easy they are to repair. To which I replied yeah they're easy to repair if you can find them. I would highly not recommend this company their professionalism was horrible and they were not able to find the leak. We wasted an entire day The customer has oil in the floor they have to have repairs that are unnecessary this was a huge waste of money and time for everybody. Edit: after receiving your response yes mistakes were made and you have done nothing to correct any of the mistakes that were made the customer contacted you about a refund since you guys did not locate the leak in the right place causing them to have their floor busted open and now they have to redo tile in the bathroom. The customer does not trust your technician to locate the leak and have another hole busted in their floor and have to make repairs again because it's located in the wrong spot. Because of your inability to resolve the issue I will never recommend you to anybody again. Your technician was completely unprofessional especially talking about he makes slab leak repairs on the side. You need a plumbing license to make repairs to the water pipe. He was unable to locate the leak even on the return visit he was unable to locate the leak that we waited 4 hours for him to show up. I mean you think you would prioritize a "mistake" especially when you know you have a plumbing company sitting on site
I would not recommend this company. We scheduled an appointment for someone to come out to check for leaks. Upon arrival the greeting was good. The tech "Dre" had only been in this business for 8 months, because I asked about experience. We both walked the yard and went to the main water switch to the house and shut it off then proceeded to the meter. Upon arrival to the meter, it still was spinning which we concluded there was a leak outside. I went back in and Dre began digging by the meter and came back to tell us this is where the leak was. So we asked is there a charge for the visit and he said $385.00 to our surprise, since making the appointment they did not state that which was disappointing. So we asked how much for the repair? He provide NO estimate but said $2800. So moving forward we had the plumbing company come and fix the leak which was expensive as well. So once it was fixed where Dre identified, the meter still was spinning, so that was not the problem. We then called Leak Doctor back and they informed us that their fee was $385 to detect for one leak and it will be $220 for a return visit to check for any additional leak. The customer service was awful when they called for payment. So with all that being said, do your research and go with another company because we now have to find another company to fix a leak which now we think was suspect. Buyer beware.
I had the pleasure of working with Joshua from Leak Doctor Orlando, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment he arrived, Joshua demonstrated exceptional professionalism, expertise, and a genuine commitment to solving our issue issue He took the time to explain every step of the leak detection process in clear. His depth of knowledge was evident, and quickly saved us time, money, and unnecessary worry. It’s rare to encounter a technician who combines technical skills with such thoughtful communication. If you’re looking for reliable, honest, and highly skilled service, I wholeheartedly recommend Joshua and the Leak Doctor team. They truly set the standard for excellence in leak detection with the latest technology.
David was phenomenal. Great communication skills, very personal and knowledgeable. Fully described the issue and helped understand possible remedies. Would 100% suggest him for anyone needing leak detection.
Our water (reuse/irrigation) bill kept getting higher till I knew we had a problem. I called out the Clermont Utility co and it was 'confirmed' there was a leak. The individual suggested to go online to the BBB for a suggested company, I did and the Leak Dr. was rated A+ so they're the ones I called. David and a colleague came out the same day, discovered there was not a leak but figured out someone had put in a "B" program on my RainBird, programmed for everyday! It was immediately deleted as well as some times changed on "A." David was wonderful in sharing with me what to do in the future, what to look out for etc. I was also extremely grateful to Hunter, the receptionist, who took my call originally.
Josue was very professional and explained every step of his process of identifying our leak. He was very thorough and would definitely recommend.
