I recently lost my husband of 61 years and as often happens immediately after a tragedy something breaks and you need help. Major water line. I called Rick Hartman plumbing and was able to quickly get an appointment. Very fair price. The service and kindness of Dan and Caelin was outstanding. They made a very difficult time much easier. I would highly recommend Rick Hartman Plumbing.

My original plumber bailed on my project to convert from a power vent gas water heater to a hybrid electric. Reached out to many plumbers and Rick Hartman came through. The original quote was $595 which I thought it was a great deal. I sent the pictures of the current set up and everything was ready to go. Then the technician came through and said it was more complicated and request to delay the project by 2-days. Then on the day, they requested another 2-days due to staffing. Also since it was more complicated, they wanted to change the pricing to labor hr + material. On the day of the work, the first technician showed up at 9 and the second technician 9:30. It was a two man job since the 65 gallon hybrid is heavy. So the final bill was ~$1000, 4.75 hours + ~$215 material. The physical work was done at 1:35 pm. I am not surprised by the invoice amount but did not get a list of material used. In short, if you have a simple water heater replacement at the flat rate, I think Rick is a great resource. Included pics of the draining pan and the piping. I supplied the expansion tank, pvc 3 inch cap and draining pan. The owner contact me and provided an updated material list and cost. Other than the traditional markup, the material cost is reasonable. After using the unit and the installation for a couple of days. The condenser tube was cut too short and does not reach the floor drain. No job is perfect.

We had a full repiping of our home. The company attended to pin hole leaks, promptly provided estimate and scheduled the work immediately on our acceptance of the bid. Before the work could be done, they immediately attended to a new leak, which took two techs, two hours, at no charge. The company did the job within the projected two days and promptly addressed punch list items. The workers were very polite and respectful. We are extremely pleased with the experience and would highly recommend them.

Rick was awesome. So nice, knew his business and left our basement spotless. I needed him to fix another plumber’s mistake, and when he was done, it looked great and was up to code. I will definitely be having Rick do my plumbing projects from now on.

Dan Carpenter of Rick Hartman Plumbing was at my house this week to replace my hot water heater. He was here most of the day as it was a difficult space where the water heater was located. He worked hard for hours never taking a break. He discovered additional problems that I wasn’t aware of and fixed them (leak near my laundry area, possible leak in bathroom pipes, toilets continuously running). He is returning next week to replace my shower head that is leaking as well as install isolation valves for the shower/ toilet. During his time at my house he heard me on the phone and realized that I was possibly being scammed by fraudulent people asking personal questions. He told me to hang up and call my bank. The bank advised me to take my computer to Geek Squad at Best Buy for a malware scan. I commend Dan for his integrity and work ethic. He was amazing during a difficult day. Going forward I will be using Rick Hartman Plumbing as my go to plumber.

Steve and his co worker came to my house sooner than expected which was awesome considering we had no water. They were courteous, professional and hard working. They explained everything and why it needed done. I feel they charged fairly and did a great job! They will be my new plumbing company for sure! Thanks Guys!

I’m approaching the finish line of a four-day major plumbing repair at my home that included concrete excavation and sewer line reconfiguration/replacement, and I have had a phenomenal experience. Absolutely 5 stars for Steve, Nick, and Adam! These guys have been nothing short of outstanding. From the very beginning, their customer service has been top-notch — professional, responsive, and always willing to explain things clearly and patiently. Their knowledge and experience were immediately evident, and they brought a level of confidence and calm to every step of this job. It is obvious that they take pride in what they do and actually care about the customer experience as much as the finished product. What really stood out was their pleasant and respectful demeanor — they were friendly, courteous, and made a messy, complicated project feel manageable and even stress-free. Despite working in an incredibly dirty and demanding environment (not to mention rainy), they kept the worksite as neat and organized as possible, which I truly appreciated. It’s rare to find a team that checks every box: skill, communication, cleanliness, and a great attitude. As a sidenote, I have Homeserve insurance and had the option to make a claim in order to have this issue partially paid for (since they only pay for foundation to utility). I had such a positive experience with Steve and a previous furnace-related issue that I opted out of a significant financial savings due to the level of trust and faith I had in Steve, in particular. Lastly, I work with clients and employees as part of a 5,000+ employee team organization and routinely teach customer service and customer experience principles. It’s hard to impress me, but these guys did. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your company — and especially Steve, Nick, and Adam — to anyone looking for a plumbing contractor.
