We hired Restoraid to do a full bathroom remodel, which has been one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. Even from the start of the project, we kept getting pushed back weeks because "insurance claims" take priority. Please use extreme caution if you have this company do anything on your home. They are not licensed to do any plumbing or electrical work in Hamilton county (they will tell you they are, but call the county, they are not as of January 2025). Also, make them list you as additional insured in case they damage your home. This will make filing an insurance claim with their insurance much easier. Long story short, they caused $8,000.00 in damage to our home because of a plumbing leak. Mistakes happen, we are understanding people, but then they refused to provide us with their insurance information, making filing a claim a nightmare. We ended up firing this company after I discovered they started doing tile work with drywall mud. Yes, you heard that correctly, they hung all the concrete board in our brand new walk in shower and taped it with drywall mud! Thank god we hired professionals to come in and finish the project because we discovered not only was the start of the tile work incorrect, all of the electrical work and plumbing work they did was done incorrectly. We ended up removing everything and starting over. So not only did they do eight thousand dollars in damages, the seven thousand dollar deposit we gave them is a loss as well. Hiring Restoraid to do this work ended up costing us an additional ($15,000.00). I would strongly encourage you to look somewhere else for a competent contractor.

The finished kitchen says more about why Restoraid receives a 5-star review from me than anything I can write. However, I'll still share a few key points. --- People --- We've had many different contractors in our house over the years. The range of contractors I've had work at my house over the years goes from staying-in-the-room-worried to Restoraid on the far positive side, leave-for-vacation-and-ask-them-to-lock-up-when-their-done, safe. Ken who was the lead craftsman on the kitchen is a great guy. My 2 year old would wake up each morning wanting to say hi to Mr Ken. Keith Desserich the company owner somehow managed to stop by rather frequently to check in on the project. I was able to trust Keith to steer us towards great decisions in our kitchen, balancing both our lifestyle with the desire to add to the resale value of our house. A true expert and wealth of knowledge and remodeling experience. --- Quality --- The finished product is great. However, what I'd really like to note on quality is the fact that corners weren't cut. When our house having "personality" caused measurements to be inaccurate Ken and Keith did not settle for the easy road. They managed to do what they thought would get us the best finished product. It was nice to know that even when several days were lost, quality was more important than just completing. Something I very much appreciated. --- Price --- I prefer to think of it as value. We got good value for our money. You can do kitchen remodels cheaper, but I don't believe for a second the value would be as good as my experience with Restoraid. The advice in what materials to use for resale value and what cabinets to include in the space was extremely valuable. The invoice is for materials and labor. Not shown is the expertise which does not appear on the invoice. --- Summary --- The most important part of any business transaction.... Yes, we will use them again. Yes, we have and will refer friends and family to them. Thanks Keith, Ken and all the many others who helped along the way. Thank you Restoraid.

Insurance hired Reatoraid for both my basement dry out after a flood, and the restoration work. We added on some extra services in another room (drywall, carpet). The whole project (2 rooms) was projected to be done in 2-3 weeks; we’re in week 4 and no progress has been made in two weeks. Our main contractor is out sick, and instead of sending someone else to finish the carpet and baseboards (the only thing left in the one room; other room is also awaiting flooring), they just keep stalling us. Most days, it’s a no call, no show from them and we’re just left waiting to see if they are coming that day or not. They also miscut several drywall holes for the light switches/outlets (apparently they don’t have the right tools for this), and haven’t fixed them properly. Overall, the workers are friendly and we were happy with their work at first. But there is little to no communication on if/when they are coming, and they have no staff to step in when a contractor is out for 2+ weeks. Very frustrating and hard to plan around. This has disrupted our schedule multiple times.

Restoraid was assigned to our project via homeowners insurance after we had a sewage backup in the basement. While they did a good job cleaning, the payment process has been a disaster. Homeowners insurance told us not to pay them because it would be handled by insurance directly. They insisted on being paid and said they would refund us when they got the check from insurance. They got the check from insurance 2 weeks ago and they still have not refunded us. I’ve called almost daily to try and make progress on this but I keep getting the run around of "we are looking into it" or "we will refund you when the check clears our account"- I spoke to my home owners insurance and the check cleared their account over a week ago. The terrible handling of our money is unacceptable and very disappointing.

We were so lucky to get Restoraid when a pipe broke in our house and water was everywhere. Donna Coyler and her team came in and took everything that was damaged out- carpets, walls ceilings., and got rid of all the standing water. I was freaking out and Donna was so reassuring, calm, professional and kind. Her calm positive leadership showed in how smoothly her team worked together. The team did great work and were also reassuring that our house could be fixed. We had trouble with our insurance company and she worked with them to show her estimate was correct. She was wonderful! Donna made sure everything that they restored was beautiful with great attention to detail! I can’t say enough about how awesome Donna was. Her team worked hard until the completion of the project. I told all my neighbors about Restoraid. They know who to call if they need help. A big thank you to Donna and her whole team.!!! Nancy Bauerband

Pros Friendly stable group of workers Willing to take project on after first contractor quit abruptly after demo work done. (Bryant Hartke) The project manager is approachable and willing to work through problems. Cons Small company who also does emergency services work. This is fine but at times it disrupted the work being done for my project. The emergency services take precedence. The project did not get done when insurance's finish date was set. (October 31 2023). Housing and storage coverage were lost. The project manager did comp for some of these costs but only because I asked. Worried that the project was not getting done I hired someone in January to help finish the work. The project manager comped $2000 for this- a small amount of this workers cost. The company had communication issues. Workers would complain that texts, calls, and emails would not always come thru in a timely way. There was an incident on a Friday where my front door got broken (by a subcontractor). I called the company emergency call line because my house was not able to be locked. Despite a few calls the issue did not get addressed until Monday morning. Some of the workers were messy. I had subcontractors complaining about the environment maintained by this crew. Some of the workers would sit in their car or scroll thru their phone on site prior to 5 pm (quit time). When I asked why they didn't just leave since they weren't working they said they wanted needed the $. I never said anything to the project manager about this. Drywall pricing. The project manager wanted to charge me $8-9 per SF to drywall areas that previously had plaster. This added thousands of dollars to the project. He said he came up with his pricing by charging me 75% of the plaster cost. I did not think this sounded right so I paid 2 drywall companies to give me an estimate of the work. Based on these estimates a new price point was negotiated with the project manager- $4.57 per SF. I think of all the people who might have just accepted his charges. It's important to be an informed consumer and not just accept things. Certain things needed to be redone- leveling of the cabinets, doors fixed, painting. Also had to get a separate person to put the stairway banister back in. This company wasn't wanting to do that work. Holly Freeman

We had a very large tree fall on our garage during a wind storm. It was pancaked. Keith at Restoraid came quickly and helped us coordinate with insurance while having his crew work on clearing the site. He made sure we had the proper city inspections and kept everyone on track where code upgrades were necessary. He coordinated with the architect and us to assure the garage rebuild was in keeping with the era of our home as well as helping us to make great material choices. Once construction began his crew was always on time, always professional and always considerate. Jay was the lead on the build and we are grateful to him for his knowledge and craftsmanship. Because of his efforts we now have a beautiful garage that will last another 100 years! Thanks also to Lenny, Holly and Greg for their hard work. I would recommend Restoraid to anyone and they will be the first call I make on another project.
