This company installed the roof on the house I purchased, and it’s been nothing but problems. The owner doesn’t do the work himself but he sends out subcontractors and then refuses to stand behind their work or honor any real warranty. The roof was installed without replacing all the damaged or uneven plywood which left parts of the roof deck sagging and not flat. Shingles were laid unevenly and poorly aligned. Worst of all there were zero intake vents installed on a brand new roof. He only installed whirlybirds which don’t do anything when there’s no intake they were just sucking air from the living space not ventilating the attic. When I confronted him, he finally added some O’Hagin vents but only after I pushed hard and even then he charged me when the original work was defective. I still have hot spots in the attic a year later and I am having somebody else fix the problem. The whole situation was cut corners, excuses, zero accountability, and expecting me to accommodate his subcontractor schedule. Don’t waste your time or money on this guy.

I whole-heartedly 100 percent recommend Battalion Roofing owned by Stephen Lawlis for any roofing project. From start to finish, Stephen is a professional gentleman. I sought five bids, and he was hands down my first choice. His was not the cheapest nor the most expensive bid. But he was the contractor whose advice I felt most comfortable with. The evening before the project, Stephen met the materials delivery to ensure the pallets were placed in the best position for the next day’s work. The next morning Stephen and his crew arrived precisely on time. They tarped two-sides of our two and one-half story stucco home to protect it as well as laid protective sheeting on our landscaping. Then they immediately began removing the old shingles. His crew is a well-oiled machine. One crew member continuously walked the grounds picking up debris. Both of my neighbors were notified, and they both remarked how clean the project site was kept. Once the old shingles were removed and settled in the dumpster, they set up a lift that carried the packets of new shingles up. The afternoon flew by in a steady stream of expert and efficient work all done under Stephen’s careful watch. And once it was done, the cleaning began. Not a speck of visible debris was left. Every piece of plastic, shingle scrap, tape, old tarp, etc. was removed. Even the crumbles of the old shingles were leaf-blown and swept up. By 5:00 pm our home was spotless with a beautiful new roof.

Battalion roofing was great to work with for our roof replacement! Stephen was thorough, provided great documents and samples of materials and communicated beyond efficiently. He really does his due diligence during the process and you can tell he treats his customer’s homes like he is replacing a roof on his own house. It was a completely no fuss process from start to finish. I would definitely use Battalion Roofing again and will recommend to all of my friends!

You won't find a more honest, fair, and reasonably priced company in Houston. We originally hired Stephen's company to install gutters on our new home, which all went up very quickly and to our liking. After hiring another company to install an enclosed patio, we quickly learned that they didn't attach it to the roof or seal it up properly and we were really in a pinch to try and get things resolved before significant damage occurred. Because of the quality work done on the gutters and their experience with roofing as well, I called Stephen back out to see if he could help us find a solution. He spent a fair bit of time thoroughly investigating the issues to try and determine the source of the leaks and provided several different solutions to best meet our budget and concerns. I'm happy to say that we are now leak free! If you're looking for an honest and hardworking business for your roofing or gutter needs, Battalion is definitely the way to go.

I recently had Battalion Roofing replace gutters that were damaged by a fallen tree. Another company said they wouldn't do it because it was on a flat roof. Stephen came out and suggest a different configuration that would help with our drainage. The communication was excellent and the service was very professional. The day the roof install was scheduled, he said they would start to deliver the supplies at 7am, 6:50ish he’s out there quietly unloading stuff getting ready for the install. Work started when he said it would, his crew worked hard all day and was done with the install by 4pm. They did a really good job cleaning up when they were done. I also appreciated that Stephen stopped buy a few times to check out the job and ask me about a few little things. Our roof looks so good, I couldn’t be happier.
