I had a tar and gravel roof put on our home in July of 2024. Excelsior was one of three companies I contacted and they came in the fastest and at a reasonable price. Mark Powers answered all my questions in detail, and the crew that installed my roof, which took three days, were excellent! Excelsior was recommended to me by two separate retired roofers that worked for other companies in San Francisco.

Professional, courteous and reliable service from the first phone call I made until they finished up the job. Everyone from Eduardo, who does the estimates, to one of Foremen, Roberto and all the workers, it was a pleasure. When they finished up, they made sure everything was cleaned up. I would not hesitate calling Excelsior again.

Exceptional service, beginning to end. And we're extremely happy with the finished product. They left the building in better shape than it was beforehand, addressing some poor flashing issues on skylights and where our air conditioning lines penetrate the roof. Very clean overall, sweeping up debris and keeping the site tidy. There was some awkwardness with two air conditioners on the roof and they had a good sub contractor remove temporarily while they removed and replaced the roof and they nearly reinstated, and added good UV resistant insulation, which the previous installer didn't use. In addition to all this we installed solar and they blended the tilt rack anchors in to the roof as part of the job. Thank you Excelsior Roofing

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding two significant issues plaguing the safety and well-being of the Francis Scott Key Elementary School and community: unpermitted roofing work and rampant double parking in the vicinity of the school premises. Despite their longstanding presence of over 20 years, it is distressing to witness their disregard for basic considerations of respect and care towards the community in which they operate. The ongoing roofing work, which lacks the necessary permits and is conducted during school hours, poses a serious risk to the health and safety of the students, teachers, and staff. Despite numerous attempts to address this issue with the responsible parties, including local authorities, no action has been taken to rectify the situation. In addition to the roofing work, the prevalence of double parking near the school has reached alarming levels. This reckless behavior not only obstructs traffic flow but also endangers pedestrians, especially children, who are forced to navigate through congested streets and dodge moving vehicles. These combined issues create a hazardous environment for everyone associated with the school, including students, educators, and parents. Urgent intervention is needed to address these concerns and ensure the safety of our community members. The safety and well-being of our children and educators are paramount, and I trust that prompt action will be taken to address these urgent matters.

Excelsior isn't the cheapest, but it is the best. They have solved for me a number of roofing issues left by other contractors - leaky skylights, bad flashing, caulking used instead of flashing, and so on. Excelsior has been in business for decades - they are one of the oldest roofing companies in San Francisco. They are very experienced and get the job done right the first time.

Pleasent company staff from president down to worker! Excellent communication. Gladly photographed before and after condition and sent photos as requested. Everyone always said "Thank you for your business!" Easily scheduled appointment, On time and job completed as quoted. They cleaned up completely around perimeter. Could not ask for better experience.
