10/10 would hire again. SSF, CA - First time homeowner after inheriting a home. After a leaky winter, we knew it was time for tar and gravel 1950s roof to be replaced if we could afford it. We gathered multiple quotes from local roofers. Not only was McCurdy's quote the most thorough and detailed, it was also one of the more competative pricings with a long history and warranties behind them. We did choose the McCurdy team and we would again! Below are some notes from the experience. Free quote: Not all who provided quotes actually went up on our roof (some used drones). I really appreciated that the McCurdy rep was kind and went up on the roof and examined it first-hand - and Bobby sent us the proposal very soon after. We were also alerted by them of masonry work that would be needed in the future for our chimney (very kind to be looking out for other signs of wear and tear even if they don't handle those repairs). By contrast, some other contractors were not friendly, did not say goodbye or tell us what to expect for follow up. It wasn't like that with McCurdy team. Signing and prep: This process was very smooth and the folks at the office were great! They have it down. The amount of information and options you are sent and what to expect is very written out, which is reassuring if you're unfamiliar with what to expect and need that extra detail to feel confident in the process. Note: in the contract, you do sign to allow for wood remediation in advance; this is good to note as I'll explain later. Roof demo, repair, and replacement: It took them 2 days to demo, repair, and replace our ~1,200 sq ft tar and gravel roof with modified bitumen (and also installed gutters). The teams on site were friendly and considerate, and fun (sometimes singing while working). It was nice to see. The foreman was also very kind, and I asked for process pictures and he was happy to send some along in a text which made it a great experience. Final invoicing: During prep of final invoice, McCurdy office team called to alert us that (after debriefing with the crew) we needed to call PG&E for a fire hazard; the crew noticed exposed wiring on the roof. We called PG&E who confirmed it was an emergency, and the PG&E rep came out within the hour. They told us the unit was bad and replaced the whole thing! Thank you to the crew for preventing a house fire, truly. There was one invoice experience hiccup, where wood remediation was apparently done but not communicated at the time. This resulted in a significant surprise addition to the invoice at the end; we resolved this in a fair way. 🙂 Wood remediation is signed off in advance in the contract to help keep work on schedule; even so - the McCurdy office team let us know the crew onsite is to tell the client when they encounter it, so with extra work there's no surprises on final invoice amount. Overall: 10/10 It was just so refreshing and resassuring to work with them, where they hold themselves to high standards of both their work and their customer service and relations. You and them are working for a shared, great experience. Our new roof is beautiful! Thank you Mr. McCurdy, Amber, Michelle, Jamison, Bobby, and the crew. Where do I start? .. AMAZING company, ALL of them!! I found them in yelp, called and spoke to a really sweet and friendly Amber that always sound so happy and ready to help. She scheduled appointment for the review of roof repair and skylight within few days. I truly appreciate that throughout the process, she always available to help and answer any questions, always prompt and efficient in emails communication too. This company is so lucky to find a great front person!! Then Wayne came, climbed up the roof, reviewed so thoroughly, took photos and measurements and emailed the estimate the very next day! Another very efficient person!! We scheduled for the day before thanksgiving and unfortunately the "work" couldn’t be completed, as start time was midday. The access to the roof is not the easiest, up few flight of stairs plus climbing up ladder. Wayne and David were very careful with moving the equipments, roof stuff and tools, not to damage our newly renovated home. An minor mishap happened, causing a hose bib on the deck to break and Wayne was so concerned, even more than me! He quickly called for the plumber, which only able to come the following morning. Regardless the inconvenience to us, the company took care of all the expenses to repair the issue, which ended up being quite expensive. David and another polite, careful crew, Miguel came early the next day to finish up the work but of course we couldn’t rush drying time of sealants. So even after working all day on our roof and light-well, they had to return another day to complete the work for few hours, and leave our roof all clean, repaired and skylight ready. The most impressive part, beside them hauling up all the heavy stuff and tools up the roof, is that David had to climb out a bathroom window to refinish our narrow light-well roof. Our neighbor’s house is fully demolished and the drop from the light-well will be over two story. He did such a great job, in that narrow space, without fear! Last but not least, the pricing is so super reasonable, almost cheap for their effort. They definitely put customers first, in all aspect and I will hire them again at a heartbeat for any future roof repair or replacement. AAA++++++ for everything, from prompt communication to the Can-Do attitude, professional delivery of services and great pricing!!

One of the best home renovation jobs I have ever experienced. From start to finish every person I interacted with was friendly, honest and professional. The foreman was punctual and polite and kept me in the loop along the way and he and his crew did a great job of cleaning up afterward. I even had the pleasure of meeting Mike McCurdy who founded the company and was glad to shake his hand and thank him for an excellent job on replacing my roof. Not to mention the fair and accurate estimate without any of that bait and switch stuff I have experienced over the years from less reputable companies/individuals. We are so glad we chose McCurdy team to do our 3 separate roof projects. The team has been courteous, punctual, fast, professional and all estimates were fair. We completed our last roof project a few months ago and then 2 days ago we discovered a leak in the ceiling under the area where the last work had been completed. We called McCurdy Roofing and they sent someone out that day to look at it. The team found that the roof was fine but the stucco wall in the same location was cracked, which was allowing the rain water to leak through. But the McCurdy team didn't just leave it. They took the time to patch the wall, free of charge, to help get us through impending storm, and give us some time find a more permanent solution. McCurdy Roofing is the best in the area. From their communication and follow through, it is clear that they care about their customers. Go with them and you won't be disappointed.

Worth every penny!!! From the awesome ladies in the office to the men that did the work. We are delighted with our new roof. The ladies in the office were so helpful and kind answering all of my questions. The team of workers that came to the house were respectful of our property, quick and kept us informed as they were working. They cleaned up as they went and were very professional the entire time. I would recommend them to anyone!!!

This is a great roofing company where the admin front office worked with us to address our concerns and our schedules. Then the roofers came and though had unexpected increase in project, they accomplished the tasks in the original time schedule. Excellent roofers did awesome complete job. Neighbors even complimented on how great the roof looks.
