Does anyone see a problem with the shower drain? Apparently the installer from unified didn't. And does this look like a quality drywall job? Its been almost 11 months since I signed a contract for a 4-6 month project and they're just getting around to this lousy drywall work. Then they ran out of drywall and haven't returned. I've made two trips to the building department trying to get things moving because they didn't get the proper permits. This company (and probably their "sister" companies) is a joke. Two of the people I had been working with are no longer with the company and communication is very poor. It's been almost impossible to get a straight answer especially on costs. We had to travel back to Akron from our home in Tennessee to try to move the project along by doing some of the work ourselves. My husband is 74 and I'm 65 and we're removing flooring and walls that were supposed to have be done, removing plaster, priming and painting and they don't bother showing up! In 2 weeks, we have completed more than they have in the last 6 months. That's pathetic. Save yourself a lot of headaches and a lot of money by choosing another company.
We had water damage from a dishwasher failure and had to quickly find a company who could address our situation. One call to Unified Restoration Systems was all we needed to feel like we were taken care of. Don did a fantastic job handling the insurance claim process and Eric quickly got the daily activities moving to get our kitchen back together with great communication throughout the process. Jaden was so helpful throughout the many projects and was always dependable and on time. He also made us the most amazing hood vent cover! I highly recommend Unified Restoration Systems.
My insurance company recommended Unified Restoration Systems to us. So glad they did, they have been so much help. Working with Kevin Monty is a blessing. We had a water back up that flooded the kitchen and basement. We don't know how insurance works, but he does. He handled all dealings with the insurance company. He stayed true to his word with the time line of everything to expect and when to expect it. He told us who would be contacting us, why, and when they would contact us. He has told us everything to expect from this mishap and he has been spot on with it all. The repairs are to start in 2 weeks. I will definitely hop back on here to let everyone know the quality of the work. *UPDATE* I Said I would be back with pictures and I am. They did an amazing job on the floors. They put new walls and a new drop ceiling in the basement. It looks great. The bottom half of the walls in the blue room were taken out due to water damage. I swear you can't even tell where the repair was made. Thank you so much for a great job.
We had an emergency sewage backup situation. David and Eric came out same day. They were extremely professional, did an excellent job of explaining what needed to be done and why, and they were up front with all pricing. The work was done before I even had to pick my kids up from daycare. The price was reasonable as well. Much better than any quote I got from mainstream places like Roto-Rooter.
Unified Restoration Systems is without question the best choice any homeowner could go with. By far the most personable and professional contractors I have dealt with. Each member of the team took the time to get to know me as a client, and left a memorable impression on my entire family. We are extremely grateful for the care and attention to detail while repairing our family home. Special thanks to Harold (our estimator) Eric (our project manager) as well as Rick and Arch (our contractors).
Updated to 4 stars from a 5 — still a strong recommendation with some feedback. Overall, my experience with Unified was largely positive, and I genuinely appreciate the hard work and dedication from most of the team. There were a few technical and communication issues that could’ve easily been avoided, and I’m sharing this feedback in hopes it helps Unified grow and improve. The Good: Initial response: Calling in and scheduling was seamless — I reached someone quickly, and they had a team out the very next morning, which was awesome. Mitigation team: Dawson and his crew were fantastic. They did a thorough job getting everything dried and cleaned up — truly appreciated their professionalism. Rebuild crew: Tristan and Alex were both super friendly and easy to work with. Their work on the rebuilding and painting was top-notch. Estimator: Kevin was extremely helpful and responsive, especially early on and when dealing with the insurance adjuster. He clearly advocated on my behalf and answered my questions thoroughly. Where things fell short: Communication from the project manager (Jeremy): While I understand things change throughout the day, updates would’ve made a big difference. Sometimes people just showed up with no notice, and I’d find myself reaching out every few hours for info. Toward the end of the project, when I’d bring up small issues (like a missing piece of shoe molding), I felt like I was being blamed for not catching them earlier. These weren’t major, but as the client, I shouldn’t feel like a hassle for asking to have things corrected. A final walkthrough with a checklist, signed in person, would’ve helped immensely and avoided some of the back-and-forth. Push for final payment: While I get that wrapping up projects and getting paid is important, I felt uncomfortable being asked to leave a check at home while I was out with my wife. I had communicated clearly about the timeline and had always been cooperative, so the pushiness felt a bit much. Flooring miscommunication: We were originally told that new flooring would tie into the existing floors seamlessly, but once the work was done, I was told it couldn’t be done due to slight differences in planks. That would’ve been helpful to know earlier — either as a "this might happen" heads-up or an update as soon as it became clear it wouldn’t work. Final Thoughts: Unified has an awesome team of people who clearly care about the quality of their work and the client experience. I’m truly grateful to the individuals who helped put my home back together. If I could give a 4.5-star rating, I would — they’re almost at that 5-star level. Just a bit of improvement in communication and sensitivity around the final steps of the process would make a big difference. I still recommend them and hope this feedback helps them become even better.
When my sump failed, my basement flooded into every corner. I called Unified Restoration Systems, and I was impressed with their quick response. Their team of workers, Steven, Steve, and Brendan worked very hard and quickly to extract water, remove wet carpet, padding, and cardboard. Three large dehumidifiers and six fans were placed in the basement, and a flood cut was done on damaged drywall. I am very pleased with the results, and highly recommend Unified Restoration Systems.
