Theresa Holmes came out to my home from American Water Damage to provide an estimate, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was thorough in explaining the entire process, patient with all of my questions, and very professional while still being warm and personable. I truly appreciated how she took the time to make sure I understood each step and what to expect. Theresa is an excellent representative of the company, and her expertise and demeanor immediately put me at ease. I would gladly recommend her and AWD to anyone needing remediation services.

Michael worked with us on some pretty extensive damage and advised on how to proceed and I don't think we could have asked for a better advocate. He was true to his word, but the thing I appreciate most is he was always willing to talk to my wife and I to help us understand and feel more confident about the insurance process. Ultimately everything worked out in terms of coverage and we are happy with the result! If you're calling this company obviously you're in a difficult situation but working with Michael made things a lot less stressful.

Words could not even begin to define the service and compassion this company has! Mike was amazing in helping my grandmother with the issues that came up after a pipe burst under her home. He worked with us in finding a solution that was easily understood and affordable with her limited income. Communication was amazing through the whole process! 5 stars doesn’t do this company justice! Thank you to Mike and his team for making a horrible situation manageable and less stressful! This company is the real deal. They didn’t try to overcharge or add unnecessary work — just honest, straightforward service. Kash walked me through the insurance process and made sure I understood every step. The quality of work and communication was top tier. I’ll definitely call them again if I ever have another issue.

My experience with American Water Damage (AWD) was extremely disappointing. Their technician told me the remediation would be handled entirely through insurance and even called Allstate using my policy number. I clearly explained my financial hardship and that I could not afford any out-of-pocket costs or my $7,500 deductible. When I learned from Allstate about the high deductible, I immediately called AWD to stop the remediation. They assured me again that I would not need to pay anything upfront, that they would work directly with insurance, and that the deductible would only apply later during the rebuild. Based on their reassurance, the work continued. However, the insurance adjuster later determined the damage was from a slow leak — not covered by my policy. AWD started the remediation without confirming coverage, leaving me with over $13,000 in repair costs while unemployed. AWD then sent me an invoice for $8000 with no proper follow-ups, and months later I suddenly received a lien notice. No payment plan or meaningful discount was offered, and I had to take a personal loan just to prevent legal action. Poor communication, incorrect guidance, and failure to verify insurance coverage caused severe financial and emotional stress. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.

My daughters house had a broken kitchen pipe that caused a lot of damage. AWD was referred by the plumber and was on site within hours. My daughter was on bed rest in her 7th month of pregnancy, I tried to mitigate everything for her from Chicago with her home in Dallas. They did a good job and had to dismantle everything in part of the kitchen, it was done in a very professional manner and cleaned up very well. We did have a couple hiccups with the amount that the insurance company wanted to pay and their requests. I had to escalate up to Michael Mcdowel and he helped to get information to the insurance company and tried to get the last of the bills cleared up. As well as educate us on everything that was being done. He was very professional, never got over zealous, was compassionate and took the time to talk with me on the phone to try to help my daughter and through the process. In the end he was very understanding. Customer service is so lacking these days. I can't say I am a big fan of their Central Corporate Office. But the Team in the Dallas office took care of us in the end.
