I had a great experience and was told what was being done and why. I was very happy with the completed job. Thumbs up to Keno for his professionalism and keeping me informed.

Update: This team took out multiple walls in my home, including a load-bearing wall, and refinished the drywall afterward. They were very responsive in communication, gave a fair quote, and found creative/cost-effective solutions when problems came up. Initially, we were happy with the work, but a few months later, we noticed significant cracking along the ceiling where the wall had been removed. When we reached out, we were quoted $2,000+ to fix the issue. Given that the damage resulted from their original work, we felt it was unreasonable to pay them again without confidence that the issue wouldn’t return. To be clear, the issue was caused by a cost saving measure that they took in order to keep our initial job within budget. They were the most affordable quote we received for the job and did provide creative solutions to keep the price down. However, a big job like that is still expensive and we hoped that any issues that might arise would be covered. They were not. While their initial service was good, our experience with the long-term quality and follow-up support was disappointing. I WOULD recommend them for a project, but with the clear expectation that there could be add on costs if things go wrong or are not satisfactory. They are very supportive of veterans as well.

I hired My Jack of All Trades to expand my driveway by nearly 2,000 square feet, and from start to finish, I have been completely satisfied. Keno and Alysia bring such wonderful energy, and they’re passionate about doing an incredible job. Also, they’re excellent about communicating. I’m an involved client, but I never felt anything but appreciation and a desire to work with me from them. Every time there was an interaction, it was professional, pleasant, and they were as excited about my project as I was (and not just for the paycheck). They have a lot of pride in their people and their reputation, and I’m already working to get them back for my next major project.

This review is long overdue but we wanted to make sure we finished painted for pictures lol. JOAT was amazing and did amazing work! If you’re lucky enough to get Sway as the main contractor be prepared to get an outstanding job done, with great attention to detail. This company helped me repair my bathroom when I had a leak and worked with our budget to completely transform our bathroom in a timely manner. When I thought I had another leak, they came right out to take a look. The only somewhat critique I have is their communication was a little bit below average, for example if they told me the day before they were coming at 9 am. Sometimes I wouldn’t hear that they weren’t coming until like 2 pm but as an adjuster who works with contractors all the time, this was to be expected as things come up. Overall, Such a great company with great contractors who will work with you! I will recommend to my anyone.

I was at the end of demolition with another contractor when they discovered a leak and wet particle board subfloor. A Jack of All Trades was a life raft for me! The plumbing team was outstanding and fixed the leak and improved the plumbing better than before that evening. Llanel’s’ Flooring team ripped up the subfloor and replaced it quickly enabling me to get back on track with my original flooring project. It was a little pricey but the quality was top notch. Thank you!!

This crew got it done and kept me updated at every step. I need an entire build out for my salon: electricity, plumbing,walls, bathroom and more. They completed it to my complete satisfaction and in a timely manner even when we had complications beyond our control. I appreciate everything this company has done to make my vision and dream come to life. Eternally greatful. I have included some before and afters, I will add more afters soon!

Update as of July 1, 2025 - We were getting our crawl space on the original home inspected. We were informed that the new addition that My Jack of All Trades did had no insulation under the floors in the new crawl space which is required by code. We called the Chesapeake City Permits office to see what are options were and was told the permits on our addition were still opened. Then us that we shouldn't be using the new addition as permits were still open. The Inspector came with an hour to check the addition. They called My Jack of All Trade to order them to come out and fix the crawl space insulation. Keno blamed his sub-contractor for not doing the insulation. We are still pending other inspections from the city for required and still open permits. They fooled me, I trusted them with our home and I'm regretting it. **Check BBB, check with the city licenses and permits office for everything they are proposing to do to make sure they are LICENSED to do, i.e. plumbing, electrical, mechanical, AC, build, etc. WE LEARNED AFTER THE FACT, JUST DO YOUR RESEARCH THOROUGHLY. WE ARE BOTH DISABLED VETERANS AND A VETERAN DID THIS TO US. Keno and his company did a first floor master suite addition to our home. We lived out of the area during the entire process and their communication with us was seamless. They kept us updated throughout the process from the Architect, permits, plumbing, AC, new roof, everything. I was at a loss of words with the finished outcome. It was just beautiful! A double shower with porcelain tile, double closets with built-ins, recess lighting, pocket doors, lighted mirrors, beautiful vanities, etc. It looks like something out of a magazine but, in my house. It exceeded my expectations and I have and will continue to refer them over and over again. You will not be disappointed, give them a call.
