I recently had the pleasure of working with Damage Control Construction, and I couldn’t be more impressed! Their experience and expertise were clear from the very beginning, as they understood the scope of my project and executed with precision. Professionalism and communication were top-notch—throughout the entire process, the team was incredibly responsive, keeping me informed and making sure I felt confident that my home was in good hands. One of the biggest concerns with any construction project is staying on schedule and within budget, and Damage Control Construction delivered on both fronts. Even when a minor issue arose due to the flooring supplier sending the wrong Whisper-Mat, Kevin, our project manager, and Sam, the owner, stepped in immediately. They ensured the money was refunded and went the extra mile by personally picking up the correct material from a local supplier, keeping the project on track without delay. I also want to highlight the quality of their subcontractors, as every specialist they brought in was polite, licensed, and just as professional as the core team. Most importantly, their dedication to customer satisfaction was clear; they listened to my concerns, addressed challenges proactively, and truly cared about delivering a result that exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for a reliable, professional, and highly skilled contractor, I wholeheartedly recommend Damage Control Construction!

This review is to express our gratitude and appreciation towards the Damage Control company and to share our experience working with Mr. Kevin Reiss and his team. We called Damage Control after the two hurricanes after finding lots of water damage from rain all around our windows. We had drywall damage significant water intrusion from multiple areas. Kevin and Sam came over to inspect and brought along their infrared camera to investigate. They spent a few days checking out the damage before drafting up a quote. They made sure they could handle the task at hand before committing to the job. This shows that they weren't just out for a "quick buck". I told Kevin that we would be gone out of town for most of the time during this repair and he reassured me that our safety and security will be monitored. He set up a cloud account so we could remotely monitor progress of the repairs. Communication from Kevin during the repair was top notch. He was always either calling or messaging during all hours to follow up with us on how everything is going and answering any questions we had. Prep work was impressive. Zip walls were set up to keep dust and debris contained. Floor protectant was laid down. Materials purchased were out of the way. Tools and messes made were cleaned up prior to their leaving for the day. During the repair, Kevin found more damage. He made it very clear that this new damage found was major and needed to be addressed. This was going to be an additional cost. We discussed options together to try to cut back costs. I really appreciate the fact that we talked over the additional cost, instead of perhaps another company just repairing the new damage and presenting an additional bill to the owner as a surprise. Kevin and his crew handled the new found damage and as always the communication was top notch. Photos and records were maintained constantly. Even taking photos of themselves to prove that PPE standards were maintained! Back to the original repair around the windows. Things were getting tricky. Finding the source of the water intrusion was not easy. Kevin called his many resources for advice and assistance. He was always coming over, nearly daily to do water testing and probing to find the origin of the water intrusion. It was quite a mystery. This took months to figure out. For months, Kevin and his team were always in contact me with and others. He was coming over to our house while I was gone to keep investigating. Everyday if a crew were over, Kevin would stop by at night to ensure all doors were locked. It was frustrating for him and I, I'm sure. But he never gave up. All his phone calls were of a positive tone and reassured my confidence in him. Believe me, I was ready to give up. Kevin and his team kept investigating. Finally, he narrowed down the root cause to microscopic hairline cracks all over the walls that was letting in water. To rectify this, a special primer and sealant would need to be used. Kevin handled business and ordered this material, got it all painted and did water tests. Finally, no more leaks. The house was fixed. His team sprung into actions and repaired all the dry wall and put EVERYTHING back together as if nothing happened. I never write reviews for companies but I feel Kevin, his crew and Damage Control deserve the highest praise for their excellent service. Their professionalism was top notch. I was seriously moved by their communication. Kevin was always there to reassure us that everything was going to be OK, was always explaining their next move. Although our damage was small compared to others who lost it all, damage to our house was painful and stressful. Kevin and his team treated our house like his house. He sympathized with our tension and strain. Thank you for your extreme professionalism. Well done. Outstanding. I couldn't have asked for more.

Damage control did an amazing job installing my new roof. They were able to start the day after my permit was approved and it took less than 2 days total. While waiting for the permit they stayed in contact and kept me updated on the process. They are very professional, affordable and do really great work. I highly recommend Damage Control!

We were very lucky to be introduced to Damage Control Construction. Our newly renovated 31,00 square foot building was totally flooded after Hurricane Milton. They first restored the damage & then helped us put it back together as they are a construction company as well. They worked quickly and were so precise with all the detail in our building. Each team that came in was pleasant and easy to communicate with.I would highly recommend them to anybody whether it's restoration or construction of a home or building.

After hurricane damage to our home, Kevin and his crew came to our rescue. He explained everything in detail, worked with our insurance and started immediately. Ceilings fell, walls were damaged and we were overwhelmed. Kevin and his crew removed all the debris, and used fans and dehumidifiers to keep mold from developing further. They did excellent work repairing our home. I can't say enough about his care, concern and professionalism. I highly recommend Damage Control Construction for not only damage repair but also for remodeling.

Honest, Reliable, and Cost-Effective Remediation & Construction If you ever experience flood damage—or even minor water intrusion—call Damage Control Construction (DCC) FIRST. They also handle non-emergency construction and remodeling, but our experience with them has been in disaster remediation, particularly after Hurricanes Idalia and Helene. Our remediation following Idalia was flawless, while Helene presented some challenges, leading to a just a tiny single-star deduction. Rather than breaking it down into a false binary of pros and cons, I’ll share why we still highly recommend them, along with a few things to keep in mind. Challenges to Be Aware Of: 1. Emergency Work Happens Fast—Expect Imperfections Remediation is time-sensitive, which means speed sometimes comes at the cost of precision. While DCC does excellent work, emergency drywall cuts and demo can leave some rough edges. Over time, as they gain more experience, their finishing touches will likely become even more refined. However, no matter how seasoned a company is, emergency demo will always leave some imperfections, so set realistic expectations. 2. Contents Disposal Requires Personal Oversight In the aftermath of Helene, some items were discarded that, in hindsight, probably shouldn’t have been. This is not a criticism of DCC alone—it's just a reality of disaster response. If you want a third party to handle your belongings, either oversee the process yourself or send someone you trust to supervise. It’s an emotionally and practically significant task, and having a familiar face with a lot of time to invest be involved can make all the difference. 3. Temporary Labor Requires Extra Supervision Finding good workers after a storm is difficult. While the team DCC assembled was willing to work, they lacked a personal connection to us, which led to some carelessness—particularly in contents disposal. Without direct oversight, they leaned toward mass disposal over careful sorting. The solution? If you're working with DCC after a disaster, ask for a supervisor to be on-site and stay in constant communication to ensure accountability. Why We Would Still Choose DCC (for water intrusion) Every Time: ✔ They will never rip you off. DCC finds ways to save you money without cutting corners, but they are also honest about when there are no shortcuts. With mold remediation, they take no chances. ✔ They are honest about water classification. Some companies will inflate the severity of your water damage to maximize insurance payouts and profit margins. Servpro once falsely classified our water as black water—a decision that could have doubled our expenses. DCC, by contrast, was honest when we dealt with both gray water (Idalia) and true black water (Helene), treating each situation appropriately. ✔ They genuinely care about your health and safety. The main DCC staff treats you like a person, not just a client. They know you have to live in your space again, and they take that responsibility seriously. ✔ They are significantly more affordable than major remediation companies. We compared costs, and big-box remediation companies charge nearly double for a fraction of the care and attention to detail that DCC provides. Bottom Line: Water intrusion is tricky and expensive, but if you want the best results for the best price, DCC is the company to call. Despite a few challenges, we would absolutely use them again and wholeheartedly recommend them to others.
