I initially contacted S&S for a service call on my Whirlpool refrigerator for not cooling. I do also have a home warranty, but had a previous positive experience with S&S on this same unit (warranty) and was willing to forgo the involvement of the home warranty company in order to use S&S. I scheduled an appointment (at my cost), the tech showed up, diagnosed the problem and stated it would be it would be approximately $600, just in parts, to repair. I told him that I would now discuss with the home warranty company and request that S&S make the necessary repairs. However, upon discussing with the home warranty company, I was told I could not specify which company would be used. I then decided to let S&S make the repair, again at my cost, as that they had shown to be very competent to that point. Then the fun began. I called back to get a firm quote from them and was told someone would call me back with a price. After a week with no one calling, I called again and again was told that someone would call back, but, again, they never did, Over the past four months, I have made repeated calls to the company to discuss, left messages and sent numerous emails, all with zero response. Bottom line - I believe this company has a good technical component, but their communication, customer service and follow-up is just plain terrible. Just be aware of this if you are considering doing business with them.
Repairman came to repair dryer. He diagnosed and replaced high limit switch. Shortly after he left the dryer quit working. I called early the next morning and was put on an extended hold. When I told the person on the phone what had happened she told me I would have to make another appointment thru the manufacture. I would have assumed that S&S stood behind their work better than that. To save time I bought another high limit switch and thermostat(included with the switch) and installed myself. Unit works great. The salesman at the parts store said the thermostat will cause the high limit to fail.
If you own an appliance with a warranty or extended service contract, and this is the business that they direct you to, just go ahead and cancel it. They will either show up on a different day than what the manufacturer tells you, be rude, not fix anything, and still collect your money happily. Find a local company that actually cares, or better yet, answers the phone.
For 5 years we have had a whirlpool refrigerator with ice maker purchased from lowes. S and s is the warranty service company you must use. I have had 3 ice makers replaced and a new one has been sent to replace the current one. You can NEVER get anyone on phone. They call to tell you when they are coming. No one shows up, no call. Don’t buy any appliance from lowes if they are the company you MUST use. Been waiting since Tuesday for my service and today is Friday.
Waited over three weeks, just to have them reschedule our service an extra 3 days. The service tech comes in, looks at our dishwasher, tells us what we already knew, says he's going to look for the part in his truck, and comes back empty handed with an excuse. Mind you he said he saw a "heating element" in his truck prior to and then says its for a stove not a dishwasher. He was in my home for less than 6 minutes and was very nonchalant about the service and/or remediating the problem. To top it off he states it will be another two weeks before he can come back out. He then goes on to say that we can order the part and do it ourselves and its fairly easy to put in. From the reviews it's obvious this company is unprofessional and unreliable. We were definitely scammed out of the fee. Whirlpool needs to do better and find another third-party company. Ughhh, beyond frustrating!!
I received a note from Whirlpool regarding a manufacturer's warranty repair. Contacted Whirlpool and they scheduled repair date. The part arrived a few days before the scheduled repair. JL the repair guy arrived on the day scheduled and made the part swap out in a timely and professional manner. I have NO PROBLEM what so ever. In this date and time we should be happy with parts arriving when scheduled.
Continue to get emails for service with lies about cancellations when the service person came out once, gave me an outrageous price thinking I was under warranty, and then changing and telling me it can be done cheaper… now these service emails are coming hoping I will use their service. I just bought a new washer…
