OGD Overhead Garage Door

I recently called OGD to replace the sensors on our Liftmaster opener, which had been installed by another company. Within just five months, I began receiving error codes from the MyQ app indicating a sensor safety issue. The garage door wouldn’t close at all — not with the remote, and only if I held down the wall button. After troubleshooting with Liftmaster technical support, the problem was narrowed down to either the sensors or wiring. Liftmaster sent me new sensors for the opener, and I reached out to OGD for installation. I chose OGD because of their long-standing reputation and positive Google reviews. When I called, Giselle scheduled me for a same-day appointment with a service window of 11–2. The technician, Anthony Ezell, arrived promptly and was both professional and personable. He listened patiently as I vented about the original installer without offering any negative comments, and assured me he would diagnose the issue and get everything working again. His knowledge and skill were evident — he quickly identified the problem, explained what he was doing, and had the door running smoothly in no time. The service was fairly priced, and I was impressed with Anthony’s expertise, professionalism, and kindness. He's also a little cutie. I will definitely request him for any future garage door needs. I also learned that OGD services electric gates through their gate department, which is great to know since we have one at our home. After reading many reviews before calling, I can honestly say my experience was entirely positive.

Called at 6:35pm for emergency service and got a call back at 7:15pm. Guy asked if I could wait until tomorrow and when I said no he told me he would see if he could get a tech out. Needless to say I never got a call back or a tech out. Luckily I was able to get the door down myself so I didn't have to stay the night at work. Thanks for nothing. I will make sure never to call or recommend this company again, they obviously have enough business that customer service is not a priority.

I had a garage door break just before 5 pm. I called OGD and they scheduled a technician for the next morning. David was great. He knows his stuff and explained everything very clearly. I asked him to service the other two garage doors I have, which he did. This was great. And they are veteran owned. As a veteran I appreciate that.

Excellent customer service. My garage door spring snapped around midnight last night. First thing this morning I put in a request and within an hour I had service at my door. My parents are elderly and my dad is on hospice… the tech was kind, respectful, knowledgeable and helpful. Made the process easy and my mom was so happy with the service.

My garage door remotes suddenly stopped working. I tried every thing but could not fix the problem. My sensor also did not align. A tech from another company came but could not fix the problems. He said replacement of the opener was the only option. Most companies I called told me the same thing. Yesterday, I randomly came across OGD and called. They quickly set up an appointment. A tech (Dean) arrived in about 2 hours. After checking everything in about 5 minutes, he said he could probably fix the problems. I was a bit skeptical. He assured me of no charge if he could not fix the problems. He proved himself and fixed both problems in less than 15 minutes. Dean is very knowledgeable, capable, and professional, a nice guy. I learned in the process that the opener replacement costs charged by OGD were much higher than those offered elsewhere, although this was not something controlled by techs. Overall, great job!

Would not recommend, quoted a price for unlocking a door and doubled it at checkout. Threatened to sue us if we didn’t pay 440.00 . Technician was very nice but caught between a rock and a hard place. Used them several years ago and service was great, downhill fast. Never again

Update May 2025: I am overall happy with the company. They did good work and fixed any mistakes they made. The 4 stars is because there were so. many. mistakes! 1. charged me 100% upfront when it was supposed to be 1/2 2. weeks go by, way longer than they told me it would be & they never contacted me when the equipment arrived and I had to call them to get on their schedule 3. when the install guy came back they had ordered almost everything incorrectly and had to order again 4. another 2.5 weeks go by with no contact and I had to call them again - gave excuses about changing management 5. came back out to install and had a residential kit rather than the commercial kit they needed 6. came back to finish the job and program the remote and accidentally wiped the programing from the existing remote 7. FINALLY came back and had everything installed and programmed correctly. They were responsive and friendly each time I contacted them, the install guy knows what he is doing and did a great job, everything works now. But it was a very expensive job ($5K), I expected to get awesome service that I don't have to chase for that price and have it done in a timely manner. So, my recommendation would be if you are a patient and diligent person this is a good company to work with, if you don't have time to GC your job maybe choose someone else. From February 2025 - I’m leaving a review for the initial visit and quote for the future work and I’ll follow up after the work is done. I had my commercial size shop door failed after I backed my car out in the morning and was stuck 1/2 open. I called several companies and they did not want to service a residential property. OGD came out same day, got the door shut and I’m scheduled to have them replace the opener in the next couple weeks. Cody took a lot of time to explain the situation and the way to correct it. I’m very happy with the service and solution so far.
