$3000 door, never finished installing, created $6000 of damage, almost 2 years later and no refund! One star is too much. These are the facts: Jan 2024, our boutique was robbed. They came in the glass of the front door, but tried prying it open first. There was minor damage to the door itself, but it still worked. We needed a replacement, though. Jan 31st, we got the invoice for just over $3000. We took it because they told us they'd be done in 3 weeks. I found out later that he never provided the legally-required F625-030-000 Disclosure Statement Notice to Customer for jobs over $1000. Had I received one, I would have known my rights in advance and not had to research what to do when a contractor takes your money and fails to complete a job. Late April 2024: they finally came to install the new door. They spent most of the day there, banged on a few things here and there, then took it out again, put the old door back and disappeared. They had measured the door size wrong. They came back the next day and worked until 8pm. We watched the workers try to force the door into place with hammers. They never finished the job. When they were done, they had taken out all of our locks (Kwikset, all intact), and replaced them with Home Depot's cheapest brand, despite the invoice specifying use of the same locks. They also left dents in the door, the door was sloppily painted, it was of soft wood, and had never been treated with the sealant for strength. What's more, it did not close unless forced with strength. I called Eldad, the owner, and he promised he'd fix it. Over the next 4 months, he sent 3 other workpeople to examine the door. None of them came back. The first one noted that the previous workers had damaged the frame. I was told he had a sudden back injury and wouldn't be able to do the repair. The second one was a coffin maker. Not sure why he came to check a commercial door, but he declined to take the job. The third one was a surly Russian who didn't want the job. July or August, I asked for a refund, at the very least, since we'd gone over half a year without a functioning door at the boutique and I was convinced he was unable or unwilling to actually fix his mess. Another couple of months passed while he stalled. Then he sent me a "contract" for the refund that specified that I was supposed to pay HIM the refund. I told him about it, and he apologized and sent me one that at least had the payer and payee correct, but it also included an NDA, saying I couldn't say anything bad about his company. I didn't think that was fair for a refund, so I didn't sign it. That was December 2024. In February, I had an actually competent company replace the door. They did it in a week. It was the door we wanted, and they had to replace the frame and do some other repairs. $10,000. AND STILL NO REFUND FROM THE CONTRACTOR WHO NEVER COMPLETED THE JOB! If anyone is concerned or interested, I have the evidence: photos of the door and the damage, our correspondence, and 140+ pages of text messages of me begging him to do something and him promising me all would be resolved in the next couple of weeks. If you want, I'll share them with you. Also, have him share the copy of the disclosure agreement he was required to provide to me and save for three years. He won't have it.
Highly recommend Summit Garage Doors! They did an amazing job consulting as we turned a carport into a garage. We had specific height and width requirements for our vehicles and racks. Summit was able to work with us through all the details. They kept us apprised on timing, and were very responsive. Install was professional and hassle free. They also returned for some small adjustments. Best contractor to work with and we love how everything turned out!
This is now the second time I've used Summit Garage for repairs. I called and spoke to Eldad. He was so patient and truly wanted to help me. We exchanged some pictures via text and he confirmed quickly he'd have someone come by the house the next day. Elijah showed up promptly and was very professional. He explained exactly what he was going to inspect, then talk to me about his findings. Then explained what was going to do and the cost. In about 1 1/2 hours, he fixed my garage! I will only use this company for these services and will recommend them to friends and family.
Elijah came out and fixed my broken track yesterday. He was friendly, an excellent communicator, and got everything done the same day. I would definitely use them again!
Summit delivered not only an exceptional product but an exceptional experience. I cannot say enough good things about Eldad, Elijah and Mason. Highly recommend.
I was having a problem with garage door hanging up & not closing and then the motor burned up. It was actually a very old unit. I called Summit based on other reviews. They said they could come out same day and gave me a window of time. They kept in touch, came within the time frame, gave me a reasonable estimate and fixed my problems all the same day. I am so relieved and pleased with their work. The technician was very polite and considerate and thorough when explaining the work. I am very happy to recommend them for garage door issues.
Had a great experience working with this company. Our tech Elijah was very personable and did a great job fixing our garage doors. I had previously had another company come out to look at our doors. They had refused to do repairs as the doors and motor were "too old". Elijah diagnosed the problem and was honest with his assessment. Gave a few options for what we could do today, and what to plan for in the future. Both doors are now working perfectly. The honesty and reasonable prices will make me an ongoing customer in the future. Very glad I called Summit Garage Doors.
