Knotty Alder "craftsman" with sidelights. You guys should be ashamed to put your name on this product. Can tell everything is just thrown together, staples completely missed and sticking out, mall trim crooked, door seal thrown on and folded over. Jamb still has the planer marks down every side, hinges are all mortised different depths. Top jamb too long and not a square cut causing the side jamb to be bowed in the middle. Sidelight jamb mall is not flush with door jamb leaving gap in the trim. Careless, built with 0 pride or quality control. All it would take is a few extra minutes and some pride and it would be a beautiful door.
My door jambs were not included in my order. I went through the company’s procedure for lost merchandise and waited the prescribed week for Krosswood to see if they could find them. One month later, I still have no jambs. After numerous email exchanges, I was sent an old UPS tracking number, then told there was a billing problem with their shipper. UPS still does not have possession of the door jambs. Long story short, I’m getting excuses now. My builder leaves in three days and I will have no exterior doors on my house. It will cost additional time and money to have a contractor install them. That’s assuming that I ever get the jambs. I regret buying from Krosswood.
I had used Krosswood/Uber doors on a remodeling project back in 2019 and was very happy with the product that was shipped. There was some small damage to a few of the doors, and I called a week later and Krosswood/Uber was nice enough to credit me some money for the repair I would have to do. A fairly positive experience. Fast forward to this year. I am doing a six-figure remodel of much of my home. In order to match the doors I purchased from Krosswood/Uber in 2019, I placed an order for 13 additional doors. The remodel is in northern Michigan. The doors were delivered in mid January. The delivery truck driver lifted the load off the truck and deposited the doors in the middle of a snow-covered driveway, and said "bye". Luckily, the contractor and his crew were at the home and were able to move the doors inside. Many of the doors and jams were quite wet. A few days later, the contractor reported to me that several of the jams were severely warped (guess why) and 5 of the door had damage (guess why). I reported this to Krosswood/Uber and was told any damage must be reported within 24 hours of delivery. What? You deliver damaged doors and jams that are thrown on a snowy driveway and the burden is on me to report the damage within hours of their delivery on a large remodel. Krosswood/Uber told me I would have to PAY for them to send me non-warped jams and I would have to PAY the contractor to repair the damaged doors. I spent an hour on the phone contesting this and the best they would do is send me two new jams at no cost. How generous! Krosswood/Uber door was a good company to deal with a few years ago. Not so today. Response to Krosswood - Thank You for your response. For a start, it would be wise for you to investigate who performed the delivery and let them know that you are dissatisfied with their performance. Then, regarding the door damage, my contractor informed me he will need to charge me $365.00 to properly repair the damaged doors. Crediting that to my CC would go a long way to enhance my view of Krosswood. UPDATE 4/26. Krosswood was nice enough to provide me a credit for the damage to my doors. NEW UPDATE 4/26 The replacement door jams sent out did not have any of the pre-drilled features on them. Contractor needs to do by hand. Ugh!
We purchased a Krosswood knotty alder door from Home Depot about 8 months ago. My contractor installed all the door hardware, stained and installed the door. The lower inner panel separated from the rest of the door so daylight could be seen coming through. I was told this was normal but they would replace the door under warranty. Some weeks later the new door arrived, without the hardware, and a different size speakeasy than the first door. My contractor had to remove and dispose of the first door, saw cut the speakeasy to accommodate the one from the first door, stain and install. Cost to me around $300. Now the second door, same issue on the top panel. About 1/8th inch of separation in the panel. More daylight. Called Krosswood, their response? Remove the door and drop it on it's side so the panel slides back into place. Really? Let alone we are elderly and not able to do this but there is a glass panel in the speakeasy which most surely would crack. Informed them of this, no response. Really poorly made product. Do not recommend.
Working with Mitch at Krosswood was an absolute pleasure. He answered every question and always followed up with me in a timely manner. Can’t say enough about his professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile. Thanks Mitch!
This business order over $500 dollars worth of fast food .. did not tip neither the restaurant or door dash driver not even $1 dollar. Very cheap company. I would not do business with these kind of people.
Customer service is fantastic at Uber Doors! Very efficient, responsive and thorough. Highly recommend!
