I hired Ernie for my home inspection for a home I am in the process of purchasing. Another home inspector that I had hired in the past recommended Ernie to me. I had an excellent experience with Ernie. He was very professional over the phone, as we were scheduling the inspection, as well as in-person. He arrived at the property early, before my wife and I arrived, and he was already walking around the exterior of the property checking things out. At the very beginning, he explained to me how he would perform the inspection and he told me I could ask questions at any point. I found Ernie to be 100% thorough and then some. Since parts of the house were not very high, Ernie put a ladder and climbed on the roof to check the condition of that part of the roof and the chimney. At the end of the inspection, he gave me a quick recap and handed me a couple of books as a gift - one of which that he authored himself. As he promised, he sent me the inspection report within 24 hours and was very thorough. I recommend Ernie to anyone looking for a home inspector.

Ernie was a fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable home inspector. He was punctual, professional, and definitely worth every penny. Ernie provided a clear, yet detailed, description of features and issues of the house from both a safety and maintenance perspective. He was very observant and his notes, both verbally and in writing, will provide me with a useful reference for years to come. I strongly recommend hiring him.

My wife and I had our home inspection done by Ernest and it was a great experience. Not only does he have extensive knowledge, but also a great personality. Ernie is about as thorough as a home inspector can get. We went with him after a little online research and a recommendation from our real estate agent. He breaks things down easily and explains potential issues. Ernie was in no rush to get out of there - his afternoon belonged to us. He also didn't mind checking things I pointed out to him to ease my mind. The inspection report issued the next day was a wealth of information - it was clear plenty of time went in to writing it. His inspection saved $5,000 off the price and also eliminated a safety issue from the home we bought. He also gave us a copy of the book he authored after the inspection! I've already gone through a few chapters and learned a few things. I would recommend the book to anyone looking to purchase a home. I would recommend Ernie to anyone looking to buy a home in the area. There are probably plenty of quality inspectors in the area, but I doubt you'll find someone as thorough and knowledgeable as Ernie. We are 100% glad we hired him.

Ernie was highly recommended to my husband & I when we were in search of a home inspector & he exceeded expectations. He was responsive, meticulous, professional, organized, honest and passionate. It was such an educational experience for us! Ernie was patient and kind as he was always making sure we understood what we were looking at and was always checking if we had any questions before moving on. He has a trusting energy about him the moment you meet him and is a true gentleman. His pricing is great for how high end his services are and you get the feeling that he takes the inspection personal, as if it were his own home, which is a very comforting feeling. We really enjoyed working with Ernie. He performed an extremely thorough inspection and took the time to point out and explain every detail. He also explained some preventative maintenance approaches and produced a detailed report including pictures from our prospective property, maintenance suggestions, materials explanations etc for our records, and suggested action items or questions for the sellers. The inspection was basically a crash course in New England materials and construction through the ages and how to properly care for a home of this age in this climate. It was phenomenal and made us feel really, really good about our purchase. I also really appreciated how well he explained everything to both of us--he seemed to really easily pick up on the exact level of detail/explanation that would work for each of us and made sure we understood what he was saying. Since he also used to specialize in older home renovations, we were able to ask his opinion on a few of our update plans, and his answers there were also incredibly helpful. Inspection started promptly on time and began with a survey of the outside, followed immediately by going to the attic and then making our way through the whole house to the basement. In total, the process took about 3 hours. Overall, we highly recommend Ernie and will absolutely work with him again in the future (assuming we don’t stay in this home forever!).

We've had home inspections done on previous houses, but never have we had an inspection like Ernie did for us. He was the most thorough, patient and meticulous inspector we've ever seen. His inspection uncovered some very dangerous items we were able to have the seller address before we closed, and we now have a plan of action to address the smaller items ourselves. I would never hesitate to recommend Ernie to anyone. He is the very best!!
