I've been using Sierra Home Inspections for about 4 years but I've been in the business 19 years and these inspectors are top notch!! Super down to earth, they don't intimidate the buyers, they are honest and put things into perspective for them. They are all handy, so they share what they know as far as cost to repair or replace items. I have not had one bad experience with this company. They are professional, on time, affordable and honest. I was not physically present. Friends went in my stead and had nothing but good things to say about Chris. The report was thorough and depicted the areas being discussed.

$5,000 of water damage and flooding due to faulty report. Do not trust Sierra Home Inspection and Owner Fibbin' Floyd Otwell of Tucson . Employees and owner caught lying. Our laundry plumbing was deceptively reported as functional. The people at Sierra Home Inspection Tucson are not professional, and fail to provide a detailed report of the home. In their report they described my Laundry plumbing as 'functional'. Their provided definition of 'functional' is: "Performing its function and its condition is appropriate for its age and use" The washing machine actually was draining into the wrong hole, directly into the wall of the house. This was easily fixed by moving the drain tube to the correct hole (the hole with plumbing). This reporting error/omission caused $5000 in damage. I called Sierra Home Inspection and they said "the state does not require them to actually test the laundry machines/plumbing" even though they have it listed as functional. They will not be helping me fix the situation. How did they test without first removing the washer drain hose? The answer is that the washer drain hose was actually in a neighboring hole, set to empty directly into the wall. Any competent inspector would have noted this in the report. Disgusting EDIT: The home inspector Joe Ortiz, Scheduler Erik, and Owner Floyd Otwell all lied to me and claimed that the washing machine and dryer were not present at the time of inspection to test. These were both installed at time of inspection. I have a phone recording of them lying about this, and also evidence that the washer/dryer were installed in the unit PRIOR to inspection. Even the photo listing on Zillow clearly show the laundry room with washer and dryer installed. What else are they lying about? I called the owner Floyd who defended this lie and told me his company is still not responsible. He instead blamed me for ignorance saying "the plumbing exists, it just wasn't being used since you hooked it up incorrectly". A man of zero integrity. I followed up with Floyd Otwell(Owner) again about getting his insurance information (E&O Errors & Omissions). He told me "that's not the way it works" and hung up on me. Floyd denies hanging up on me, yet I have a recording proving this. Very unprofessional. My Realtor contacted Floyd Otwell who continued to deny responsibility for the omission/oversight. Floyd had the audacity to offer me a refund of the home inspection, giving merit to my claim that the report was faulty and that he is responsible.

Sierra Home Inspections did a thorough job inspecting our new home and provided a highly detailed inspection report. We will absolutely use them again should we purchase another home in the area.

As a Real estate agent I recommend several inspection companies to my clients but I prefer Sierra Home Inspections above all. Erik and all the employees are professional, intuitive and promptly responds to calls ( I think he’s hard wired this way being that he is also a local Firefighter). He takes the time to explain issues in plain English to help my clients understand what they are purchasing. Although Sierra Inspections have the best prices, piece of mind and safety are priceless.
