Termite infestation 4 times since a customer with David Carter. Thousands and thousands of dollars to repair my home!! My original contract was converted to treatment only so they are not responsible for damages! They sent an 80 year old man to my house unscheduled for treatment and he said we didn’t have to move anything, when 2 years ago we discovered that a porch step was concealing the first termite infestation. The concrete cylinder block and paver porch step was not moved and their technician failed to treat the perimeter of my home properly which has caused a failure in protection. Do not use this company. Do your research and make sure You protect your home properly!! Check your contract!!

When I bought my house 8 years ago, it was already under contract with David Carter Exterminating, so we decided to continue the contract. They did absolutely nothing to protect our home! All they did was put a card on our porch every year, saying they were here, but they never actually inspected the house for termites! Now we have severe termite damage, and they refuse to accept any responsibility, or even apologize! Do yourself a favor, and stay away from these lowlifes. You’ll be glad you did!

How convenient for this company to point out only the last 2 infestations. The ORIGINAL termite infestation had absolutely nothing to do with plumbing! It was where the technician failed to either remove the paver step or inform the homeowner to move it so that area could be properly treated. If the treatment was done properly then I never would have had a termite problem. Let's go ahead and proceed to how the original infestation was handled. If the treatment used would have eliminated the termites completely, then there would be no residual scavengers to find other water sources like the plumbing. David Carter was the original contract when we built the home in 1994. The Carter owners had some disagreement and the company made some changes. Mike was our technician who was let go by David Carter and opened his own business. We stayed with Mike until his death in 2011. David Carter then honored Mike's customers and accepted his contracts. This is how we ended back to David Carter. At the time, were having no issues, so no reason to question...just continue paying our renewal fees. As for the 80 year old owner, he came out in JUNE of 2018. My inspection renewal was DONE in JANUARY of 2018. There was no reason or appointment in June. And when asked if we should move the paver step, because we found out that they do not move steps, we were told that it was not necessary, even though it was the ORIGINAL point of entry!! Just goes to show the incompetence of a company who doesn't even know when they're supposed to service customers! As for treating the secondary and tertiary areas at no additional cost - well that is exactly what the "Treatment Contract" covers. I was told by Steve Carter that because I had a retreat contract, that is what they were responsible to do under contract. Treat only! Otherwise, I would have had to pay additional for a company to come out and treat the infected areas. Unfortunately, the chemical treatment is not immediate, which means it does not kill on contact. It could take up to 90 days. Termites continue to do significant damage as they work 24/7! I disagree when David Carter Company says they think they did all they could. Clearly they did not. The plumbing area that was treated in 2018 is exactly where we had our 4th infestation which lead up the chimney where even more damage occurred. This was not even discovered by the technicians. I found it myself when I opened the access panel. As a homeowner, I am doing all that I think I should do, which is alert and educate other homeowners! When a company like David Carter can continue to service customers, I find it necessary to inform customers that they need to be diligent about the information they have in their own contract or make sure to get a proper contract. I hope no other homeowner has to go through what I have and continue to endure! Especially if they are a customer to this company. Please heed this warning and check your paperwork!!
