We Called Ten different roofing companies in the greater knoxville area and got quotes ranging from 7k-25k. Jake, on the sales/inspection team at Smith Roofing came out and was the only company to inspect the attic and by doing so they were able to anticipate future change orders/problems in the project that the other companies would have encountered down the line. Robert, was the installation project manager and made sure the materials, field crew, and clean up was done properly and in a timely fashion. Robert was great at communicating the timeline and gave updates throughout the project. Smith Roofing completed the installation of new asphalt shingles, all new drip edge, ice and water barrier on all the hips/valleys, and 30 sheets of new plywood sheeting in 12hrs. 7am-7pm I would highly recommend using them if you have a project and need it done right the first time.

Smith Roofing did a great job on my new roof. They showed up for all appointments right on time, and did everything as promised. The crew was great, worked from 8 am to 7 pm to get my roof done. Rickie was a great foreman, making sure all details were done and letting me know what was happening. A bravo to Jake as well for explaining everything before the sale. Sorry, there's not more photos, my roof is invisible from the street.

Brad and his team did an outstanding job with our roof and gutters. When the roofing was removed, several issues were discovered which complicated the work significantly. Brad took it in stride and explained, in detail, what was wrong, what my options were and the best way to make the repairs. Once complete we walked around together and noted a couple things that were taken care of immediately, these issues were very much cosmetic and most folks would not have noticed. The team left the premises looking at least as good, if not better than when they came. Big thanks to Brad and his team! Highly recommend!

All the way from the first phone call to Jake come out to look at the roof and gutters on my house to get me a quote that no other roofing company to could beat even should us a pictures what it would look like when finished with roof and gutters then Rickie and his crew of guys came out to do the roof and gutters everything was professional and explained everything step of the way to the crews on the roof and gutters made sure everything was cleaned up after they were done Im very happy with how everything came out looks amazing would recommend highly recommend them to anyone needing a roof or gutters replaced. Joseph and Davis were such a pleasure to meet and work with!! I was very very impressed by their knowledge and professionalism. Davis come and give us a free estimate on what the cost would be and it was very affordable and when we signed the agreement and the work was completed it was to the penny of what we were quoted. We knew that he had told us clean up was included but I expected somethings to maybe be left behind. However not one piece of paper after they got the roof replaced they got on there hands and knees under the bushes and trees. They literally picked up everything.

Positive Experience with Alex and Brad; Major Concerns with the Owner Alex was great to work with. Very knowledgeable and thorough. He helped us through a very complex and difficult insurance process with State Farm. Our project required the rafters in the attic to be repaired in addition to the roof and decking being replaced. Brad was our project manager, and I can't say anything bad about him either. He made the difficult decision to re-open the roof after closing it. This was due to a problem with the engineer's plan. A severe, unpredicted thunderstorm came up suddenly while the roof was open. It was literally raining inside our home. Our house was completely flooded—rain poured from every light fixture and register in the ceiling. We had to move out immediately and have not been able to live in our home for four months. Brad has checked on us many times and was visibly upset and worried about us. A true test of a company's integrity is how they handle the situation when something goes wrong. Brad and Alex have been very good to us through this disaster. The owner, Chris Smith, is a different story. He has never reached out to us, not once, despite over $100,000 in damage to our home. I don't feel it is unreasonable to expect that when something of this magnitude happens, the owner would at least reach out and express concern. Smith's liability insurance will cover the loss but only pays actual cash value (ACV), not replacement cost value (RCV). This leaves us personally responsible for $10,000 - $20,000 to restore our house and replace personal property that was damaged. I have reached out to Chris multiple times to discuss the situation, and he has ignored my calls. How the owner acts says the most about the company. He has some wonderful people working for him, but he is ultimately responsible when something goes wrong. I am very disappointed. He obviously doesn't lead by example. Roof looks great, but the inside of the house is a disaster. Chris Smith walked away with our bill for the roof paid and taking no responsibility for the damage and bill he left us with. Is that the kind of person you want to hire for your home?

Smith Roofing & Exteriors has been fantastic from the start. I recently coordinated with Bennet to get a roof replacement quote for the community I manage, and she was professional, friendly, and incredibly responsive. I knew exactly who was coming and when. Thomas arrived right on time, was respectful of my busy schedule, and took the time to answer every question clearly. The inspection was thorough, the scope was well explained, and the pricing was competitive and straightforward...no surprises. It’s rare to find a team that combines great communication with punctuality and expertise, but Smith Roofing & Exteriors delivered on all three. I’m genuinely looking forward to working with them on several upcoming projects. Highly recommend!
