Alfonso from Restoration 1 of Austin did a thorough inspection for excess moisture following a water heater leak in our attic. He arrived right at the scheduled time, was prepared with the inspection tools and sensors, explained the process and findings. He took his time to check all the possible spaces where water may have traveled down the walls in adjoining rooms, checking from the ceiling, down the wall, at the baseboards, and floors, as well as in the attic. He then provided options to address what turned out to be a very minimal moisture in one spot. As advertised, there was no charge for the visit and inspection. I hope not to have another leak situation, but if I do I’m definitely calling Restoration 1 for sure.

I had an odd situation with a massive kitchen counter and built-in sink that was very risky to remove to replace the cabinets under it. I also wanted the old moldy dry wall replaced with cement board and well insulated. They used the materials I wanted, replaced the cabinets without moving the counter, patched up miscellaneous drywall, and stained and painted - all in budget, and it looks great. I noticed a few small things, no one is perfect, and they gladly came out, fixed it to my satisfaction, and apologized. It was refreshing to find such professionalism these days.

Could not reach an agreement with insurance and tried to leave equipment over the holiday weekend to charge extra. Predatory, but was able to perform the repair work. Just question everything but paying. Edit: had a rep try to reach out to me and ask if I would like to speak about my experience with their manager. Did not get a call for several weeks Edit 2 - After a manager reached out about this review, we were able to discuss what had happened. There seems to be a issue with the project manager I had. However the were able to compensate me for a decent portion of what the insurance has quoted. Appreciate the effort, but it did take some shouting to get here. Satisfied now at least.

Like so many others, we found Restoration-1 through a recommendation from a plumber to remediate damage resulting from a leaking upstairs toilet. As our situation was not covered by insurance, we were concerned about potential high cost and delays. We needn't have worried. The entire process worked as laid out, from mitigation with Cody (and team I believe was headed by Sam), through reconstruction with Taylor and team headed by Christian. The work was professionally done, timely, and on budget. In fact, reconstruction cost was significantly less than the other bid we received. Restoration-1 fixed our water-damaged bathroom and kitchen ceiling and made an unpleasant situation much more bearable.

Christian Prida and his team were fantastic! Christian was always quick to respond and their work was amazing. Would definitely recommend.

If I had to start this process all over again, the last company I would use is Restoration 1. I am incredibly disappointed by the price gouging of the estimating and accounting team. I had an emergency plumbing issue where my bathroom was leaking into the kitchen downstairs. The plumbing company recommended I reach out to Restoration 1 to check for mold exposure. They came in to do an assessment then helped me to coordinate a claim through my homeowners’ insurance. The company offered to complete the mitigation work as well as the remodel of the damaged wall and ceiling. Once the mitigation work was completed, my adjuster cleared the work and submitted the payment. Restoration 1 uses the same estimating software as the national insurance companies but "Reserves the right to make up their own pricing". The company invoiced a total that was higher than what the line items supported. By higher I mean a discrepancy of $800 out-of-pocket expense above my deducible and the payment Travelers insurance issued. They refused to start on the repairs of the damage the mitigation company created until the mitigation invoice was paid in full. I spoke to the accounting team multiple times over how the line items match what the insurance company submitted and that I had paid my deductible. The conversations I received from Cody W. & Lisa R. were charged with attitude. They showed a complete lack of empathy with statements like "We can make up our own prices" and "You have our fine print in the agreement". After delaying the repairs of my home for more than (4) weeks and adding a late fee to the exaggerated balance, my family decided not to move forward with Restoration 1 for the repairs. I have little doubt they would change the invoices at the end of the construction project again to price gouge the most they can out of the insurance company.

Cody Baker came out to inspect some water damage that was in our wall from a small leak. He did see any lingering moister so advised we remove the small portion of drywall and replace it . But if we saw anything more alarming once we did so, to call him again to inspect the situation. He was courteous and professional, explained the situation to us and the check was feee of charge. His honesty was appreciated, he didnt attempt to sell us something we didn’t need. Highly recommend this company.
