Our American Water Damage saga lasted around 2 years. We had water back up in our basement and, initially, they were quite responsive and helpful. However, there were clear shortcomings after the job was 'done' (floor falling apart, poor/missed painting, cracked vanity counter). It took about a year to get Jon back to our house after numerous phone calls/emails. After endorsing pretty terrible workmanship, it took another 6 months (and multiple additional visits from Joe) to get work restarted. After the second round of repairs were 'done', several components of the initial contract were still not completed (ie fixing/actually painting trim). In response to this, Joe offered to buy us a gallon of paint... I'm glad to see others had reasonable experiences; ours was so frustratingly bad that I recommend considering any other company prior to American Water Damage.

I have had the most wonderful experience with American Water Damage. Having a water leak is chaotic and scary! The profossional atmosphere created by this company was appreciated. Everything was taken step by step, methodically and I was apprised of each phase. It was quick and efficient, the area kept clean. Once the work was started, they came every day until the leak was stopped and area dried. The longest part was waiting for the Insurance Company to review the damage and costs associated with the full repair and approve them. Courtney Moorman sent courteous reminders frequently, which I think made a big big difference in the wait time. She also copied me on all the correspondance. I worked with AJ at the beginning who explained the process and John at the end who ensured that the job was done right. Each and every member of the team who came was a pleasure to meet. I had to have floors replaced, new sheet rock installed and repainted. It is even better than it was before! I cannot endorse American Water Damages' services enough.

Ben and his crew helped us after a leaking dishwasher decimated half of our kitchen. We had been working with insurance but their response time was unfortunately slow. Once Ben got involved he got our insurance to send someone out and meet him within 48 hours, and began demo & mitigation. He also referred us to a great construction company that got us up and running again in a timely manner- after insurance finally filled out their paperwork. Hopefully we don’t have another water issue, but if we do, we’ll call Ben and his team again!

Wow, what can I say that is good about this company. I paid the deposit (half of the total cost) and waited for almost a month until the bill for the other half. I was under the impression they were waiting on parts, but nope. The manager, Joe, who is as incompetent as he appeared, simply forgot about me. He did make some excuse about why it wasn't done, but really, he must think I'm stupid. When we inspect the job, the carpet had a gap from the wall. This incompetent man said he will send someone out to scratched it properly. It's been two weeks. That was on 9/9 and it is now 9/23. Now they want the other half, and Joe is not returning my text or calls to come stretch the carpet. On a side note, if you're in a bind and need to use a credit card, forget it. They will charge you an exorbitant fee to use your CC.

Small laundry room, hallway and small bathroom repair in basement. The project dragged out almost 6 months. Project Manager Joe was nice to work with. Cabinets were custom and had to be re-made. The cabinetmaker took much longer than expected. I am not sure that we would recommend AWD.

DO NOT HIRE THEM!!! I was a bit thrown for a loop with kitchen water damage. Let's just say... Yikes. I was extremely confused how this process even works honestly. While Ben "sold" us as having these guys do the repair, he did drop the ball a bit... the pics he took weren't great & he literally just doesnt explain things well. He says you can call & email anytime, but then doesnt respond or is off that day you need answers. There was never an estimate. Phoenix however, who has been our" project manager" has been cool. He is the one I would recommend for any job like this. Ben is the "sales" guy & terrible at his job & taking the pictures needed for insurance even though he tell you that rhe pictures are rhe most important part. This process has been EXTREMELY rough for sure. I will suggest that the guys that are tearing apart your kitchen, should have some simple plumbing know how or they should be given the authority that when they break something pretty "minor" they can have the part in their van for the quick fix like a shut off valve... As for the company I would give a 2☆ if everything would have met our expectations, but im giving 1☆ as I think there is quite a bit of room for improvement in communication. This company sucks. DO NOT HIRE THEM They are now sending us a bill for almoast $5400 & for what?! Breaking a shut off valve my husband had to fix? Not being able to their job correctly? They hardly spent any time at out house & what they did do took them about 1 hr total & with an attitude.
