Not great. The mold came back after a few weeks so I had them out again. Days after the second treatment the mold came back a third time. Never called to ask if I was satisfied but called religiously every Friday to collect payment.
I've been warned not to use this company by a commercial contractor, also a friend, who has lots of experience with this company, and won't again. I'd asked right away after service was performed for invoice or estimate on cost so I could start paying them off, as I knew my deductible would not be met. They then sent me an invoice nearly 3 months later, after letting them know I could pay it in 3 payments, they told me I would have to pay in full and have sent me an invoice nearly daily in less than 30 days since I received the original bill. I was told if not paid in full they would put a lien on my house. It seems based on the other reviews I'm not alone in my experience.
I’m not one to usually write reviews, but my experience with ServiceMaster makes me feel obligated to do so. After some powerful rains in Lincoln, my finished basement took on some water at various spots, so I called these guys (along with some others) and made an appointment. The next day two KIDS came out and started to rip up the carpet and diagnosis the problem areas. I had a lot of questions, being this was the first time my house took on water, but they weren’t very helpful in answering them. They seemed pretty tired to honest. When I asked how much it would be ballpark, they said a project manager would give me a call, because they had no clue. When you have wet spots in your basement, there isn’t really anything you can do but say okay. So I waited a day and a half, which the basement was dry by then, and decided to call ServiceMaster back. My message was supposedly emailed to the supervisor that I was supposed to talk to? After another hour, and no response, I realized when the guys came out they called me. So I gave that cell a call back. I told them that it was dry, they could pick up their equipment. He responded they were really busy and that it might sit there until Monday being that it was Saturday. After a few questions for him, he said ‘well we are in the area, so I can we could maybe come pick it up.’ He said he would let me know. Well I was outside when the pulled up, he never did call me, but I was glad they were there. Immediately an older driver gets out of the truck and noticing how defeated he looked, I said something about how the rain must be keeping them busy. His immediate response was "it’s definitely past beer thirty," as he sluggishly walked up my driveway – his partner thought it was hilarious. Sorry, nothing against drinking, but that’s not something I would say to clients. My buddies…yes, but not clients. I’m actually pretty sure I would have some repercussions for saying it with my company. They came in, got their equipment, tested to make sure the walls were dry, and started to leave. I asked them how much it was going to be. Their response was they didn’t know. They didn’t deal with stuff like that. That their project guy would once again call me. Fast forward about a week now and no call. Just an invoice in the mail today. By the way, that invoice, a lot more than what multiple competitors said over the phone (nearly double). Also a lot more than what my neighbors had to pay when Chem-Dry came out on a Sunday for a basement (multiple days of drying) that was way worse then my few small areas that were dry in about 16 hours. I hope I never have to deal with water in the basement again, but if I do, I won’t be calling ServiceMaster.
The finished portion of our basement flooded last fall and ServiceMaster was our first call. They arrived quickly and tackled all the issues. The project manager Gus was helpful in navigating the whole process and we ended up using ServiceMaster for all the repair work, too. It was a relief knowing that someone experienced was getting all the right people on-site for the needed repair work. Couldn't be happier with the work!
Spent days without any results took them six months to send me a bill then threatened to put a lien on my property. in my opinion no one really knew what they were doing. Tried to talk to someone about my concerns afterward and was met with no response. I would never hire them again. Forgot to mention I had a lot of cleanup and floor refinishing from the marks their machines left.
1 star only because you can't give a zero. Workmanship was poor. We had a water leak in our kitchen. In the process of drying it out I offered to remove cupboards and a shelving unit to inspect and get better airflow. Their employees told me that it would be alright without doing that. Well it wasn't. We ended up with mold in the cupboards and walls. My sheetrock had to be torn out and the insulation removed for mold remediation. I would not recommend them for water problems!!!! My opinion is that they are quite inept.
over the winter break in late december. Service master was hired by the university I attend to come in and move the things out of my room into the living room because of a burst pipe flood. Moving the items they did not break anything but they did ruin my items. For some reason they moved all of my clothes in trash bags. This would not of been a problem, but they duct taped them shut. So, for around two weeks my soaking wet clothes, towels, sheets and even shoes sat in an air tight trash bag. When i got there and cut open the trash bags the smell stained my new room for a week and I soon came to realize all of those items were ruined. I tried washing them multiple times but with mold stains and a consistent smell they are worthless. I have never wrote a review but this just makes so sense as to why service "masters" would think that doing that was a good idea.
