They showed up within an hour of calling. Went to work right away and didn't stop until the job was complete.
Short story: 5 Stars. I am grateful for the competence, capability and integrity of the people at Interstate Restoration. Long story follows: Interstate restored my 1970’s era 34 unit apartment to better than new, but when the fire first happened I didn’t know what to expect, or who to call. Thankfully the calm, informative representative from Interstate impressed me more than the aggressive and not so bright reps from the other restoration companies, (who all came out as the 2-alarm fire was being shown on the news!) As things spooled up, a variety of sources confirmed to me that Interstate is known as one of the better restoration companies (and that they’re not all so reputable). Each person I’ve worked with at Interstate has had years of experience. They have a deep roster of contractors and suppliers who have proven to do good work. The project manager was well respected by all of the tradespeople, and he kept them and their construction schedules (and inspections) well coordinated. The regional director was my contact for all of the paperwork (sheaves of it) and he was very skilled at navigating and balancing costs with doing the right thing by both me and the insurance company. There are a lot of details, and communication at all levels was frequent and clear. All of the workers and subcontractors were above-average to great. I "trust, but verify" as a rule, and had an excellent non-adversarial public adjuster who charged less than his normal percentage because he didn’t foresee many problems with Interstate or the insurance company. Interstate has been fair and above-board, and there is a prevailing attitude that they will not leave a finished product that they might be ashamed of later. Where there were a few minor discrepancies of what was there before versus what they put back in, they quickly rectified it within the pre-agreed scope of work. Where things could be improved, they were – mostly within the funds from insurance but in rare occasions on my dime - and with quality and at a fair price. The end result has been a fully repaired (and much improved) home for my tenants. It was a pleasure to work with such honorable folks, and I certainly recommend Interstate highly.
Update: I still have not heard from FOS (even though they said they would reach out in their response to this review). Going on 7.5 months out of my home but they claim it is not their fault and out of their control despite the fact that they don’t respond to emails or calls from our project manager and refuse to speak directly to homeowners. Is it too much to ask to want to live in my own home? PLEASE just help us!! First on-site is the worst restoration company. Would not recommend to anyone. They do shoddy work, leave behind huge messes, and are just terrible to work with in general after multiple requests and reminders. They also left my unit with the key in the door while on a lunch break and no one was onsite. Do not use them ever!!!
This company was contracted for an apartment flooding. My wife and I were displaced due to the flood. In the process of moving out, we got well acquainted with their team coming into and out of our apartment. Most of the staff was pretty polite and considerate considering the circumstances but one employee was very rude. Exceedingly bad attitude and costumer interactions. His tone and how he addressed me IN MY APARTMENT was unacceptable. I would think the company would do better to manage these sorts of people when dealing with face to face situations.
Interstate is a company my hoa uses. Recently i had water enter my home caused by my nieghbors condo behind me. Ryan at interstate was the project manager, and never reached out to me, and i had to get info from my neighbor about what Interstate was doing for us. The first time this happened three months ago it took them forever many weeks before they finished the job. Drying out the water and than restoring my floor boards and carpet. The second time Ryan completely ignored me and I even confronted him about it, he told me if i had any concerns to feel free to call him anytime. He never reached out to me and I never reached out to him. It never got done, I had to call my home insurance broker to send out another restoration company to come out.I don't recommend this company.
I am happy to give them a positive endorsement and high marks! We had tried out several restoration companies in the past and found Interstate Restoration. I can tell you that they by far have provided the best customer service for us and our residents. They are all really in-tuned to what your needs are. They are fair and won’t sugar coat what needs to happen and also won’t make you spend money that isn’t absolutely needed. We have always been satisfied and never had to call them back for any missed steps.
Worst company ever- wish I could rate 0 stars, because they don't even deserve one. Did not come when they said, it took them over 5 days to get asbestos testing done, while water behind walls and insulation sat (I fired them and brought another company that had testing complete in less than 24 hours). Then they sent a massive invoice for running equipment during the waiting period for asbestos testing, equipment wasn't drying anything after the first day, we needed the walls cut. They never came to check moisture content and machines during this period either, and then lied and said they came! Extremely rude, cocky, and unprofessional project manager. Look somewhere else!
