My family and I have been customers of Village Shoe Repair for well over a decade! They have impeccable service and the craftsmanship is unmatched. I have recommended this shop to all of my friends and others within the community and will continue to do so for all of the reasons I mentioned above. Don’t hesitate to drop in and check them out!!!
WOW! WIsh I had taken photos of the before but I thought my heels were beyond repair. I just picked them up from Village Shoe Repair and they look brand new ! Also very reasonably priced. Highly recommend
I arrived on the Village Shoe Repair after finding two other show repair places in Richmond had closed. Well played, VSR. You've cornered the shirking local market on shoe repair. And a smart biz owner knows that's the time to drive up your prices. Local demand dictates a certain amount of price gouging, right? Amazing Biz Man at VSR. Owner managed to address me while on the phone both when I dropped off the shoes and picked them up. A pair of simple brown dress shoes with one of the souls flopping around. Owner seamlessly took my shoes, gave me a ticket and encouraged me to move on. No price for the repair given at the time. Adept. When I returned, the owner asked for $50.00 to pay for the repaired shoe. Reviewing the shoes, I can attest that the owner used glue to repair the shoe. That is some fancy glue. Not a single additional repair was made. Not a lick of polish applied to the pair. And when returned, the pair was nestled in a used grocery bag that pulled apart by the time I got back to my truck. The Village Shoe Repair shop owner taught me some valuable lessons: 1. Ask for price when you drop off your shoes and make sure you know what repairs you are paying for. 2. When there's only one or two businesses offering services locally, you should probably look online. 3. Smart owners understand the "lifetime value" of a customer. Maybe VSR has been losing enough customers that a "get what you can out of 'em" attitude has developed. I won't be sticking around to find out! Looks like the owner knows his stuff - wouldn't hesitate to take something there for repair.
I have frequented this hidden gem of a business since 2011, and I will never go anywhere else as long as I can help it. May the owner of this shop live forever. He has rebuilt so many pairs of shoes for me over the years, like that one time I stupidly went hiking on a gravel path in a pair of dress boots. The boots look better now than they did when I bought them. All shoes I bring to him look better now than when I bought them. His work is impeccable. Expect brisk, no-nonsense service at the counter as you would at any other hole-in-the-wall establishment. Thank you for the many great experiences; I look forward to many more.
My go to shoe repair shop! I have taken several pairs of my husbands shoes to get new soles done and they looked great every time. It really looks like they take their time in fixing them and not just trying to move things along quickly. Places I have used in the past the shoes never looked like this. You won’t be sorry if you go here. I was pleasantly surprised that they also fix vacuum cleaners among other things. Will be bringing several of my shoes to get new heels put on.
Love this place! Came here last month based on my friends recommendion to replace sole on my husband’s shoes. I was pleasantly surprised when I got back practically new shiny polished shoes. I also realized that I can bring my sawing machine and vacuum cleaner. So I was back on the next day. He cleaned and tuned up the sawing machine and fixed the vacuum cleaner that I tried to fix before but nobody was willing to do it. Both items were in excellent condition when I came in a week to pick them up. Was glad to find out that they also replace batteries, make keys, etc. From now on, this is my place to go for my repair needs!
