Timothy did a fantastic job... I had an older gate valve that would not seat off (when you turned it off Water was still flowing)... We were able to coordinate the meter shut off for my wing of condos the B units and he quickly replaced the valve with a 90 degree shut off ball valve that isolates my condo unit B1... i was trying to make multiple legit reviews for timothy... bc he basically did 3 to 4 separate jobs for me (with 2 quotes that were free quotes done on day 1) that are fully completed and thoroughly done by day 3 business day. THANK YOU!!! All jobs were tackled day 2 and day 3 a calibration adjustment to the shower diverter valve was polished up. Job1 turned off water main isolation to Units B and cut out and replaced my unit B1 shut off valve... Job 2 He replaced my bathroom faucet valve handles with diverter valve handle... Job 3 Replaced Kitchen sink with customer provided by brother used kitchen sink... Job 3 or 4 ish replaced faucet with new kitchen facet provided by the folks (Dad and Mom)

Paid $300 to be left considerably worse off in a number of ways. Back in mid-February, I paid roughly $300 for the bi-annual check up service which includes both a spring and fall visit. It’s advertised as including a number of various checks in addition to cleaning the evaporator and condenser coils, specifically. My unit was operating normally without any issues, as I do my best to make sure it’s taken care of with preventative maintenance. I had Cottrell visit on a Thursday for their checkup. On Friday evening, after I had already left town for the weekend, I got a notification from my thermostat that it had been calling for cool air for 8 hours and the temperature had only risen steadily - indicating something was clearly wrong. I called Cottrell to have them come back out that following Monday to fix whatever they had done. As it turned out, they forgot to reconnect a wire back to the capacitor, causing the outside condenser unit to not work. Admittedly, it was their mistake, but it was fixed and all seemed fine. It wasn’t until until about a week ago, that I went in my attic (where the air handler is located) that I noticed there was a gaping hole in the side of the unit blowing cold air out. See photo. It turns out that instead of using the screws that had always been used to fasten the access panel back to the unit, they simply used a couple strips of flimsy duct tape which had obviously failed. I’m no HVAC expert, but even I know to use a rigid metal tape in that scenario, where you have so much air pressure pushing out from the unit at the seams. Flexible duct tape in this use case is a recipe for failure. Not surprising. How long I was wasting money pumping cold air into my attic because of their failed tape job? Who knows. Stunned by the sloppy carelessness of their duct tape job and the initial error in re-wiring, I began to check their work to see if they did what I’d paid for. Unsurprisingly, I discovered they DID NOT clean the coils as advertised. See photos for before and after (I ended up cleaning the coils myself). Frankly, I’m not really sure what they did while they were here that was of any benefit. What I do know, is that for $300 I was left with: A shoddily re-assembled air handler with a gaping hole needlessly blowing cold air into a hot attic, dirty and uncleaned coils, and a weekend-long episode of possibly damaging my entire system because someone forgot to rewire the capacitor. Unfortunately, I am now well outside of any window that I had to dispute these charges with my credit card company for a complete failure to provide what was paid for (never mind the waste and damage beyond that). Let my experience be a lesson to you. If you’re going to use Cottrell, you better check their work immediately afterward to make sure you actually get what you paid for.

I was changing the temperature on my Rinnai tankless water heater from 125 to 130 degrees. This required a programming temperature override. I followed the procedures from Rinnai and got not only locked out but my unit was electronically shut down. I called Cottrell and Co at 16:50 on the day before Thanksgiving. The customer service was very helpful and she called her after hour emergency on call technician. He returned my call in less then 15 minutes and walked me thru unlocking my unit and then went over all the programming fields one by one until I got the configuration I needed. His name was Hunter, he was not only very knowledgeable but also very kind and helpful. Thanksgiving is saved as I have a houseful of out-town family here for the holiday. Thank you so much. They charged me a small tech support phone fee and saved me hundreds of dollars. Such a blessing.

Tim was great. Friendly and knowledgeable. Previously used other plumbing company for a pipe repair and the bill was definitely on the high side. Tim repaired the water line to the fridge and the saddle valve and replaced the sink drain basket which was leaking. Cottrell has always treated the company I work for well on the commercial side of things. Working with them for my residential / personal needs has been a pleasure. Very satisfied. Tim even let me know that moen sends out free parts instead of just selling me the parts and repair for the kitchen faucet. Honesty goes a long way with me. Kudos to the Cottrell team.

We had an estimate done today with Cottrell & Co., Inc, and it was an exceptional experience. The technician was honest, knowledgeable, and thorough— taking the time to explain the inner workings of our duct system and clearly outlining the issues. His integrity and attention to detail stood out immediately. It’s rare to meet someone who takes pride in both accuracy and ethics. We left the visit feeling informed and confident about next steps. Highly recommend this company for their professionalism and transparency. Always go with local.

Kurt was great. He is very patient. The valve to turn off the water to the house was hidden so well we had to call the town of Lexington Water Department and they sent out a crew to help us find it. Then, the first water heater he brought didn’t fit so he had to go all the way back to the shop to get one that would. And he set the temp to 120 for me. (120 is hot enough!) I am very pleased with his service.

I had a great experience with Cottrell & Co when they replaced an old water shut-off valve and installed a new lavatory faucet in my home. From start to finish, their service was top-notch. The technician arrived on time, was friendly and professional, and explained everything clearly before starting the work. The shut-off valve replacement was done quickly and cleanly, and the new faucet looks and works perfectly. I was impressed by the attention to detail and how respectful they were of my space-everything was left neat and tidy when the job was done. It's clear that Cottrell &Co takes pride in their work and values customer satisfaction.
