Sherlock Homes Inspection Services

We had a great experience working with Sherlock Homes on our home inspection! They were recommended by our realtor. Our inspector, Ben Hanson, was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. We were invited to participate in the inspection to learn more about the home we are in the process of purchasing. We asked Ben LOTS of questions and he answered all of them. We received an extensive report within a day - it included not only the concerns that had been identified, but recommended corrective actions. Everyone we interacted with at Sherlock Homes was professional and courteous - great customer service! We highly recommend.

I bought my first home in Bloomington and had Sherlock Homes do the inspection. As it was a limestone ranch built in the 1950s I was concerned that there could be issues and wanted a trusted professional to inspect it. There were a few minor issues that the inspector found and wrote up for the seller’s agent. As these issues were well documented the seller addressed them promptly. Years later, I had a roofing company inform me that my roof was in bad need of repairs. I was surprised as the Sherlock Homes Inspector said I had a significant time before my roof needed to be replaced. I called Sherlock, they came out and reassured me that my roof was still in good shape. Great, responsive service from this great inspection company. I highly recommend Sherlock Homes!

We first heard about Sherlock during a Home Buyer's Class back in January, and we enjoyed them so much that when we finally put an offer on a house we booked them right away. The whole inspection was a great experience - they walked through the home with us, explained any issues clearly, and answered any questions they had. Very thorough and honest inspection of the home we purchased. If you are a potential buyer and Sherlock does your inspection look for their recommendations written in the inspection report. We purchased an older home and ours was very detailed! To date, we still refer back to it for upkeep and repairs on our home.

I have had two home inspections done with Sherlock Homes and they were both pleasant experiences. Lee Van Buskirk and Andy Mason were friendly, knowledgeable, and very thorough. In addition to doing a great check of the homes and properties, they took the time to explain what they had found, and showed me how to properly check and use some of the appliances (furnace, water heater, etc) in the home should we end up purchasing it. I will definitely use them again if we need another home inspection.
