HomePro Inspections of Mid Florida

I'm writing this again & updating information since I cannot find our previous review. Giving 1 star because it won't let me post without giving a star. Our inspection was done in April/May 2017 We closed mid May. The first two pictures are under a sink in one of the bathrooms. Yes that is mold. There is no way that wasn't there for the inspection. The next pictures are of the tear off we had to do in October of the front porch. Yes those are termites which we were told there were no active by inspector, after he took a screw driver to one of the front posts and gouged out a track. We also found termite damage to the stairs of the deck. We also found a third working water heater in the ceiling through an access to ceiling panel, that obviously the inspector never bothered to look in. We were told the main furnace "just needed a freon charge". How wrong he was. We ended up having to fork out over $7000 for a new furnace. The pool salt cell had to be replaced, the pool filter also total cost about $1700. The jets do not work in the whirl pool. The whole hose generator was not run or checked. There was a leak in the attic over the kitchen, that was obviously leaking during the inspection due to the amount of mold we found growing on top of the kitchen cabinets behind the crown molding. There is no way he did any kind of "moisture readings" in the bathroom in question or the kitchen. We are still finding things the "inspector" should have caught/found. Be warned - for $950 the inspection was definitely NOT worth it. You can get a more thorough inspection by a better inspection company or person for way less money. Not to mention the missed stuff you end up paying for after.

He was very respectful, wearing shoe covers of his own in the house, and overall provided a great experience, while being so thorough in his findings. If I ever purchase a home in his working area, I will definitely hire him!

Mark was incredible and super prompt in scheduling our inspection. I not only felt very involved in the inspection process but he also helped me to understand the different things that were in my house (sometimes all the boxes and wires look the same!) he took the time to explain things I’d need to know as a homeowner and I’ve never had a more thorough inspection review! It was great to speak with him prior to calling around for homeowners insurance too, he told me which things I’d need to know about my home to get an accurate quote. Thank you so much, Mark! We were absolutely impressed with Mark's professionalism, skills and expertise and his wonderful interpersonal skills! What a wonderful human being he is!!! So easy to relate to him and he offered great explanations. He did a great job and offered some helpful advice on how to 'fix' items and gave us some good referrals (of electrician & handyman). Truly a joy to have had Mark as our inspector--a great human being with a great approach and it is obvious that he has the expertise to do the job! My realtor recommended a few different inspection companies and HomePro was one of them.. I'm SO grateful for the recommendation. Mark was our inspector and from the beginning he was up front & straight forward with us. He walked us through each part of the house, pointing out minor issues as well as bigger issues. He made sure that we understood where important things were located inside & out, things I didn't know to look for being a first time buyer. He also informed us with estimates on how long he expected things to last (roof, AC, etc) - including things that needed to be fixed ASAP, or things that were minor and didn't need to be rushed. A HUGE bonus of working with Mark & HomePro is that at the end of the inspection, Mark printed out his report and gave me a full BINDER with all the info from the inspection - no wait time, no worrying that I missed writing something down, it was ALL in his report and I got it before leaving the property! As a first time home buyer, I was very nervous going into the inspection and had no clue what to expect. After, I feel so comfortable knowing that Mark did a thorough inspection and gave me a TON of information, even things I didn't think I'd need. I learned so much in the 2 hours Mark was there and am feeling so confident in my home purchase - that confidence would not be there without Mark & HomePro! I would 1000% recommend them to anyone needing a home inspection and I will without a doubt use them in the future when needed.
