I have purchased several homes in the past and the inspections reports I have received had taken days to complete. This inspection was pleasantly different. Russ was very professional and thorough! Russ answered all our questions and gave us great suggestions. Immediately upon completion we were given a report binder. The binder was very detailed containing color photos and itemized details regarding every item in the home. Highly recommend Pillar to Post!

This review is for Russ Abram with Pillar to Post only: Russ Abram spent a great deal of time thoroughly inspecting the property we were purchasing. I have 20 years experience as a project manager building shopping centers and office buildings, and while commercial construction is different, I have enough understanding to judge an inspector’s capabilities. We’ve also purchased 6 properties in the past 20 yrs and so have worked with many different inspectors. Russ has been the best - he clearly knows his stuff. He also took time to go over basic maintenance of systems specific to the property and pointed out issues of concern and potential problems and suggested how to address each item. He is patient, professional, thorough, and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Russ Abram for property inspections.

Was very rude. As a first time homebuyer and dealing with things that are coming up, I was advised to wait to request whatever 'findings' packet he puts together until closer to the day of the inspection because they didn't want me to end up paying out for an inspection I may not even need. I was definitely going to contact Russ to let him know if I had to cancel it, instead he called me 4 days prior to my scheduled appointment basically demanding that I choose this product now. I said cancel my appointment, I'll find someone else. Unfortunately we don't all have perfect, happy, no issues situations that we can breeze through and look into the future and know that everything is going to work out fine and dandy. Hopefully no other first time homebuyers get treated this way.

We recently bought a home and Russ was recommend by our realtor. Everything seemed great just a few minor repairs on the home inspection. Once we moved in 6 weeks later we find that not only did he miss 2 attic accesses, which if he had looked would have found the attic was infested with vermin. All insulation had to be removed and replaced. I notified him of this, after a short argument about weather or not we had an attic, he did pay for half of that cost. Both ovens dont work right, hot water heaters run constantly, electrical wiring not even close to being up to code, the majority of the water lines in the barn busted last winter apparently but were never looked at. Im not really sure what he did inspect out here. We were moving from out of state so we did not attend the home inspection. He seemed to be knowledgeable on the phone and came reccomended. Everyone is allowed to have an off day but this has cost us greatly in repairs we did not anticipate. I would also like to add this house was built in 1997 and then partially remodeled again in 2010. Its not an old home by any means. If we had known it was a "visual " inspection only, we would not have hired him. We could have done that ourselves, but when you advertise and market yourself as a home inspection company that offers different tiers of inspections at different prices and we did not choose the cheapest one by any means you do expect to get a decent helpful home inspection. Not walk into a home with faulty wiring that was easily caught by a plug tester you buy from the hardware store, ovens that dont heat up, lights that don't turn on, etc. Also we were told that he isn't licensed by the state of Colorado and that it is not mandatory in Colorado to be licensed. So he has no liability whatsoever to the buyer when things like this happen. I also might ad that my husband and I both are Licensed Real Estate Brokers and owed a Real Estate company for 12 years. We arent just clueless buyers that have never bought a home before.

Had a great experience with Russ from Pillar to Post with the inspection of our new home. He was VERY thorough and broke the issues out between "major" and "minor" problems so I could focus on the most important issues. I would use him again anytime.

I was ready to purchase a house, had already put in $6000. In ernest money, i mean, i was there, ready, he found upwards to $40k worth of things that had to be done at least before it could be FHA certified. The people selling the house had totally lied about everything and he also found asbestos in the basement. We were shocked. Had they not done the inspection for us... I would recommend pillar to post home inspections to anyone. They are awesome.
