Cahaba Restoration

We had a vehicle brush up against the inside of our garage door frame causing it to move a couple inches. I found Cahaba Restoration through a Google search. I called them after it happened and Robert the owner came out immediately because he happened to live in the area (I thought this was great that he would take the time to personally come out and not just send an adjuster or estimator). He looked at the issue and said it didn't look like it would take much to fix the issue. He even said that if they could just knock it back in to place, they would do it free of charge (this to me showed the level of integrity that he has which is amazing). a few weeks later I called them back to get things rolling and they sent someone out. several days later they sent over an "estimate" of $1500 (which by nature is never supposed to be a set in stone price). it could end up being more or less depending if it was a harder or easier fix (this is my experience from having been in a management position in the same industry for more than two decades). The day came for the work to be done and the employee was on my property for an hour max where he use a 10 inch piece of 2x4, less than a quarter tube of caulking and maybe dipped a paint brush twice. Because it took such little work and time to do the job, i thought surely the final invoice would be less than the $1500 estimate. So I Contacted Cahaba Restoration to inquire a bout it (especially since it wasn't much more work than what Robert the owner said they would have done for free). They assured me that the price would remain at the estimate cost and so I asked for a break down of the cost of the job because it didn't make much sense. What Jeff the Director of Operations sent me was this "We had approx. $200 in time and material. 20% profit of $300. $1,000.00 in skilled labor." This doesn't add up to me. There was maybe $20 in material used and the man was there for an hour which means they are charging $180 for an hours labor and then another $1000 for "Skilled Labor" which is all profit since you already employ the skilled labor at a wage. Don't get me wrong, the work they did in the hour they were here was satisfactory but the way they worked the final invoice was not displaying the integrity that Robert the owner originally showed. I would personally have second thoughts about using this company again. For these reasons I am not able to give a rating beyond a 3 star.

Very good communication from this company. Showed up and delivered just when they said they would each day. Very good quality work and workers. Professionalism all across the board. I recommend to anyone that needs these types of services.

Had my dishwasher leak and they helped me with my insurance and made sure I got covered properly. Completed all the work with them being a one stop shop. 10 out of 10 would recommend and use again

5 stars are not enough! My basement flooded after a rain storm and Cahaba was there to clean and fix everything immediately! They removed all the damaged drywall, installed a drain tile system around the perimeter, fixed my broken sewer pipe, closed it all up and I have not seen a drop of water since! The process and communication was handled as if it was their own house! Highly recommended to all my family and friends!
